FTR, these images are very useful to know if a car really does have heated seats, often the sales description is inaccurate.

The auto stop start defeat as fitted to N20 powered version 2013 model year on..I think manual versions only

My 04/12 manual N20 car has it. Can't imagine it was an option so must have been standard fit. To be honest I'm not a fan of stop start so mines switched to always off. Not sure if pressing the button does that automatically or if its something I coded with Carly when i got it a year or so ago.

The button needs pressing every time the car’s started, Carly codes it to remember it’s last state permanently

Mack noted...mine’s a 2012 auto no stop / start...

I’m not aware of post LCI auto versions with start / stop..I don’t think they could be faffed to bring the new auto box required for that change..never got round to looking at real oem to see

Just FTR, there seems to be a similar blank button in the mirror image location on the left hand side - any idea what that does?

PDC defeat / enable

Having just replaced the close button, i have all the other five blank. Three to left and two to the right are solid pieces. There is the led for the parking sensor button, but the circuit board underneath you can see solder pads for leds and contacts for other functions. Must be bit of a pain at BM having all the different options.
Having blanks shaped like buttons just a constant reminder you have functions missing.

At least on the E89 it’s subtle..the old days of switch blanking plates littered across the dashboard to remind you that you only bought the basic version..

Agreed. Its a useless feature that does nothing more than pay token homage to the climate change. Not to mention the crazy price for a replacement battery/starter on a start stop car. Had it on several cars, never used it

It does come in useful to know when your battery is fully charged, though :driving:

If it is blank it doesn't do anything. Nada, y'know it is just ....blank. :scratchhead:
