1/ Looking at a waffle weave microfibre drying cloth, which size do you find best? I have seen one 26"x36," and do you drag them along the body work or lay them flat to soak up the water?

2/ What wash mitt do you use,? I would prefer a double sided one but not sure which is best?

Getting my Deep Sea Blue car next week and going over to the 2 bucket washing practice.

3/ Where to buy from, don't want the cheapest just the best.

Thanks

'Lambswool wash mitt' and 'OnePass Microfibre Drying Towels' are excellent and service from Raceglaze excellent - 24 hour service on my last order. For the cloth I use both methods - lay flat and pull over the bodywork and folded for smaller areas.

for drying use...

I use an old rag that I found on the floor of the garage one day...

Actually I have three or four microfibre rags , they all seem about the same though I find the yellow ones a little better than the blue ones (honest ! I don't know the diff between them other than the colour) I have a big blue "drying towel" that came in a detail kit i got that works great. I just lay it out and drag it across the surface.

I love this site, when I see the depths that some of the others get to I don't feel half bad coz' I realise I'm only about half way up the "Anal Car Nut" scale. With all the great advice here I hope to do better in the future....

edit for typo's

Have used a few different drying cloths including Sonus Waffle weaves but had almost given up on them as they were not a whole lot quicker than my AG Synthetic but then i discovered these cloths

SUPERB drying time is so quick and just the right size the bigger towels can be a pain dragging on the floor and harder to rinse these just seem to absorb the water easily and most panels need just one wipe before i QD.

The Show QD is great to leaves a nice glossy wet look http://www.seriousperformance.co.uk/Products,78,toView_772.html not best for all round QD duties i leave that to my Megs LT but for after a wash or quick spruce up at a show say its great.

Meguiars Microfibre mitt (same both sides) to wash. (had a megs lambswool but it fell apart after 3-4 washes :( )

Armor all giant microfibre towel for drying, armor all microfibre cloths for polishing, waxing and general detailing!

the link- http://www.speeding.co.uk/acatalog/Armor_All_Car_Care_Tools.html

great stuff and really lasts.

I wouldn't go with a waffle-weave personally. I tried a lot of the waffle weave towels, and then a friend (who used to part-run Clean&Shiny), let me try this towel he had...

Seriously (no pun intended!), it is an awesome drying towel. Extra thick, seamless, and just absorbs stupid amounts of water! I can dry the entire car without having to wring it, and it doesn't leave any water marks at all (other towels never dried the car fully).

Can recommended it, if you're still undecided!
