I can't decide if it looks amazing or like a toy car?

There are a few other Zeds that have been wrapped in the gallery of this site, both in Matte Black. Are any of the owners on here? Company reviews etc...

I like it. Possibly not the best photo, but it looks different, and I like the matt effect.

I was reading about the Hyundai Veloster which is I believe the first mass market car that can be bought with matt paint. It sounds like an absolute nightmare to care for. Use the wrong product and all of a sudden its shiny.
 
Like it, thinking of getting my wing mirror caps, roof and rear spoiler done. May well give these guys a call :)

A clean primer application! :thumbsup: Will look aces once proper colour and lacquer coats are applied. :D
 
Many, many years ago I had a Lotus Cortina and it had a matt black bonnet - not sure if it was a factory finish or not, but it was very hard to get the bird poo off! About that time there were a lot of Minis that also sported black bonnets. I notice that it is now a fashion for Z4s in Germany, but I wouldn't know if there are any in the UK.
Of the two versions below, I think I prefer the red car's scheme, but neither of them do much for me to be honest.

That m coupe is somewhat famous (at least around the streets of NW London!)

Though do remember that keeping a matt car clean is a PITA. (can't park under a tree, can't use normal wax/polish, need special soap etc)

more effort than its worth.

Can you polish gloss vinyl? I'd imagine it's harder to get as good a finish as genuine clear coat/paint, and will show as being not an original paint finish (as well as attracting many many fingerprints, smudges, scuffs etc...)

I've e-mailed a few companies in the S London area and had a few responses - they all seem to be around the £1200 mark for any matt colour, £1800 for carbon fibre effect (also available in white carbon?), or £1400 for pearlescent. Didn't get a quote for gloss or metallic wraps, but I'd imagine they'd be the about the same as the matt colours.

The cheapest I've found for just the roof is £195 gloss or £295 carbon.

I love the contrast between the matt body and gloss windows and lights.
 
i took those pics of the matt grey. Up close its actually got the carbon weave pattern.

Wraps dont look half as mint as you think once up close. bit like covering your car in electrical tape :D Step back a couple of feet though and it looks very special. Im always on the fence about them, i think if you dont mind blowing the cash on the basis of ripping it of in a year then fair play to you. :thumbsup:

to be honest, I've never seen the attraction to wrapping a car. As you pointed out caring for it is not quite the same and anyone looking closely will see its been wrapped instantly. Not something I'd personally want on my pride and joy.
