What do you think of your 20i's

i only ever get an average of 30mpg from mixed driving on my 20i. the claimed average of 40mpg mixed driving is never going to happen..... i think my 3.0 si coupe used to give me about 26mpg mixed driving..... i think as soon as my pcp is up, i will trade in for a 35i

Turbo fuel economy has always been pretty crap even decades ago when I had a Fiesta RS Turbo!

From what I can gather from reading posts from owners of 35i's/35iS's they are only achieving low 20's MPG. About the same as what I get from the M.

Makes the whole "emissions" based car tax thing a bit stupid in my opinion.

I wonder what ruse they will come up with to heavily tax zero emissions cars in the future when we all drive them. Rest assured they WILL find a way...!!

I have done 600 miles since I picked up my 2.0. I am getting roughly 33 mpg. I am a bit disappointed as I am running it in so driving it very carefully.
I used to get 26mpg when i drove my cayman s fairly hard!!

Will my mileage improve as the engine beds in?

nope, my fuel economy has remained pretty consistent and i have just gone past 10k. like i say the claimed minimum mpg is 30 with the average of 40mpg.... but i have never got close to achieving the 40mpg average figure

If the 2.0l is only marginally more economical than the bigger engines then what's the attraction ? Is it the company car tax band implication or maybe the Co2 output?

So a combination of a few factors really. I was sure there had to be a better reason than 5mpg!

I suppose resale value might become another factor in the future as well with the trend towards smaller engines.

My 3.0 is still in the £280 ish road tax band - the 35i will i think be in the £480 ish band ?

They moved the goal posts a few weeks after I bought my Disco !
At least Dick Turpin had the decency to wear a mask.

They do very well to keep the 35 under that 225g/km level. I blame the green lot and the tree huggers.

One of the most talked about Zeds on here but only 3 so far in the Great what Zed do you drive poll ?

I know it's only a small sample of the forum but I was expecting to have seen a lot more of them .

More than 4k if buying new. The discounts on the 2.0 were unbelievable.

The recent offer was on all models

As for why the move to turbo's, Co2 levels is the reason, European Union mandatory reductions in Co2 emissions for cars, such that average fleet emissions is 130 g/km by 2015 and 95 g/km by 2020. The penalty for manufacturers for missing these targets is high €95/g/km per registered vehicle over the average.

In reality it is the European big green stick of enviromental progress!!!
Get your fun now before we're all forced down the three cylinder 800cc route. (apart from the political bandits of course)

There was about a £9k dealer contribution to git rid of the pre-facelift models on the website and it was across the board
