Hey guys I’m new to the forum 👋 I’m 21 and just got my Z4 last feb and can honestly say I’m keeping her for life!

Im looking into getting some new wheels for her. Currently have on the 108s which are VERY nice.

I’m looking into buying new 189s.

What do yous think of the 189s wheels on the Zed?

I’m not a fan of the 19’s. They look to chunky for the E86
Look at BMW style 230 if you want a 5 spoke

It’s a matter of personal choice, however I very much like the wheels in the photos as that’s my car.

Really that’s your car??
She’s a looker for sure.

How have your 189s held up over the years? Any cracking? As they look pretty robust for a cast wheel.

I think the 189s are 18inch. Honestly with the state of Uk roads 19s are very crack prone. Especially on the run flats. :headbang:

230s are bloody nice though!!

189 wasn’t ever fitted to the E86 as standard as far as I know. The premium 5 spoke option was the 203, although they are not easy to get hold of these days.

Yeah I stupidly bought the two rears of the 203 style. Unfortunately couldn’t find any front wheels anywhere in the world! Just sold them 2 days ago

Personally I'd have the 108s all day long, so we'll suited to the E86...........but that's not a helpful response :tumbleweed:

108's on a e86 is like fitting wires to an F-Type  189's make the car look modern

all these responses are helpful mate

I too love the 108s, its just the dreaded corrosion issues that will inevitably happen, that has caused me to look for another wheel.`

 i cant deny the 189s do look good and have ordered up a set today, hopefully they are almost as strong as the forged 108s as they're low pressure cast alloys.
From what i've seen though compared to other BMW OEM wheels, they hold up very well.

I liked the 108s on my E86 (although personally they look better silver) but yes mine were corroded too and it wasnt a cheap fix.

The 189s are not to my liking at all, they look too chunky and a bit characterless, like the sort of wheels you would get on a base model Dacia Sandero or something.

I was pleasantly surprised by the MV2s I have on my E85, I thought I would be changing them but they have really grown on me. With the spacers they sit inside the arches nicely.

I had 108s which I have just replaced with MV2s. Happy with the choice but I intend to keep the old wheels for refurb later.

Are the 108s you have painted? Or were they just lacquered over the diamond cut?
