What do you say when people ask how much?

I usually say "Not as much as you think..."

I know exactly how much your car cost Lucy because when I asked you 'how much' at a service station on the way to a North Yorkshire meet, I actually meant the bottle of windscreen washer fluid you'd just bought! :poke:

And she did not think you were making an indecent proposal? :o

I hadn't thought of that.....if she was, even Wayne Rooney would have balked at the price, hehe.

Well I think I'm a bargain at that price... :tumbleweed:

I was having a blonde moment!! I thought you must have been thinking about a Coupe, hence asking me. I was completely oblivious to the fact that I'd just walked out of the petrol station with a bottle of screenwash

I tell the truth "less than you would expect, bought it 2nd hand with high mileage"

Ive only come accross jealously on one occasion. Bloke at work muttered 'mummy and daddy must have bought it' - didnt even say it to my face.

If i came to work in a brand new fiesta nobody would think anything of it, the irony is if i took the £8,300 a paid for my Z into a Ford dealer to buy a new fiesta they would politely ask me to leave!

Friend of mine guessed I spent £40k on my zed!! Just shows that it does look for expensive than it is...

Some people just get jealous of someone else having something nice?

My wife has had the odd bitchy comment from other women - often driving "ordinary" cars which cost more than our '04 Zed.

I think plenty of people are jealous that you've been brave enough to take the plunge and endulge in a car which is plainly for enjoyment - something I suspect they're either too stuffy to do, or can't compromise on practicality.

Either way, there's no denying they (secretly) envy those that do go for it :fuelfire:
