Next year am planning on trying to attend a few events or road trips and take some nice pics but with a nice shiny car still.
How do you on a road trip to keep your pride n' joy shiny when out and about ?

Last couple of forum events I’ve had to wash the car either first thing in the morning before setting off or at the end of the day so it’s clean for the next day. The last one we had 4 Zeds waiting for access to the jet wash at the end of day one.

Yours being white I could only see as being worse unfortunately

I love the colour but it is pita to keep shiny on road trips, makes sense about using a local jetwash and keeping some drying towels/cloths about and I also have some speed wax stuff that you spray water down and then buff which I could also pack.

Should’ve added, then the same cars formed an orderly line while they were wiped down, dried, liquid waxed and buffed

Nothing - I let it wear it's patina with pride.

Although I did feel slightly guilty yesterday when the lad next door was out cleaning his Fiesta with Meguiars Waterless Wash & Wax!

I tried that at the last forum run Iain, I got that much stick at the meal the evening before I was up at 6:30 heading for the local garage to wash it before breakfast and the start of the days run

Sorry to hear that Andy - I only ever see one 6.30 in my day, and it isn't in the morning!

Dirt is the warpaint of a great weekend :D

That’s how mine looked Jay when I turned up at D&G run, then pelters ensued at dinner and the rest is history as they say :tumbleweed:

That’s normally the only 6:30 I see too. Didn’t help the OH agreed and made sure I was up on time to get it done before 8 o’clock breakfast!!! Decided to avoid the early start the next morning so washed again when I filled up after the days drive.

Cleaning on a road trip is the opposite of fun for me, another vote for wearing the dirt with pride!

I keep cleaning gear in the boot and clean it. Within reason

When I first bought the car I drove up to Kent to visit a mate. Naturally I pulled in to the local hand wash before I got to his house and washed the Zed, before rolling up. Hopefully every one does that and not just me. :D

 Letting it wear its war paint is awesome and should be the way to show what a road trip is all about...... BUT it would break me in the summer time with roof down action and some cruising you feel everyone is looking at you but really they are thinking "Oh wow look how clean that Renault Wind is, shame about the white filthy Beemer sitting behind it

Have decided on road trip to at least jet wash and a quick shine and buff down weather permitting

And that was just from Kathleen! :P

If you're 'out out' you're supposed to look your best...hence you rushing to Next after the first day to buy a shirt for the evening. At least you've got one for the next meet. :D

Yip that’ll do fine and goes well with at least 2 pairs of my shorts  you turned up with more bloody pairs of shoes than I did dress clothes
