I like rambling in my spare time, but I try not to go on about it :P
When I have to work I'm employed as a technical officer for London Underground :thumbsup:

The last time we did this I believe that a large number of board members worked in IT or something computer related. Looks like that may not be the case as much now. For myself I'm a retired accountant and former CFO for the company I worked for about 20 years before retirement in 2010. I have not missed a day of work since I retired... :yeah:
 
Early retired (since 2012) school teacher.

Not very glamorous or impressive perhaps but all I ever wanted to be from age 11 - made it and loved the job.

From basic school teacher through to Assistant Head and member of the management team - 32 years in the same massive secondary school in Newcastle.

Never a dull moment :D :thumbsup:
 
Target for global director hostility, or that is what today felt like!

I head up the category management function for a top global pharma company. Still love to do something that drives a greater passion, but realistically cannot afford to having been a corporate clone for the last 18years. Well, I could, but I'm risk adverse, so just remain bitter & twisted when people love what they do :D

Interesting that you're bored. I've got some friends in the building trade and it's made me realise how I was sold a false dream of further and higher education. If I could go back in time, I'd learn a trade.
 
I work for a Dutch brewery selling beer to cash & carries and convenience stores.

Looking to move to software sales and ultimately property.

Someone in my extended family is PA to Jackie Stewart. Small world! Some amazing perks with that job
 
30 years in catering, mainly as head chef in various hotels and restaurants.. now moved sideways into a catering manager role in a school which is pretty nice number... finished by 3 every day, every weekend off and 12 weeks holiday a year which is a welcome relief after working 50/60 hour split shifts for the last 20 odd years... I do miss the creative side of what i used to do... dont miss putting work before everything else in life :thumbsup:
 
I work in the Dockyard in Plymouth. I'm that ex hardware design engineer that's a pain in the butt for the corporate IT guys. Over the years I have a written bunch of Databases, in use around the site and I'm currently part of a team working to design and implement a corporate system to replace some of them. Challenging times but I enjoy my job enormously and it's ever changing flavours. :D
 
Buzyg, we both work in the same place.
I'm a civil engineer and have been for the last 20+ years absolutely love it .
 
I'm a product quality engineer for an automotive seating company.
:)
I help make sure bits of metal fit to other bits of metal correctly :D
 
I retired the day before my 70th birthday, in Sept. 2010. I was a consultant with a Customs Brokerage company. My job was to review import records of companies which imported goods and paid import duty on them. Invariably, their broker had made errors, which I would find and file for refunds from the government. Sounds dull, but I was very good at it and enjoyed it. I made a lot of money for my employer, and a little bit for me.
 
Worked for Audi as a Service and Parts adviser for a few years after quitting University. Now onto my second apprenticeship as a Plumbing and heating engineer.
 
Mechanical engineer/Project Manager for one of the three main rolling stock leasing companies in the UK.

I'll never love trains but have been involved in some interesting projects over the last 3-4 years :-)
