Hey all. I love music and was just wondering what everyone else on here liked, so...
1:Who are your fave bands?
2:Who is the best band you have seen live?

My favourite bands are Pearl Jam and Oasis, they are both superb. I have been to so many concerts over the years and seen countless bands but the best live act, which surprised me as I didnt even really like them before seeing them, was Tool.

Godsmack, and well simply put anything rock.

Classic rock fo shizzle
Lynard Skynard (sp?)
and a bunch...well most the classic rock crowd some other new bands as well (Godsmack and some other metal/hard rock bands)

Oh I reckon those Metallica folk, though since they decided to get their panties in a wad I vote to download every album they make.

Pink Floyd
Foo Fighters
Nirvana
Radiohead
Weezer

Saw Foo Fighters a few years back along with Queens of the Stone Age.. Great show. Dave Grohl is the man.

All time favourite is Bob Dylan. Seen him live around 25 times. Each performance different. He would wipe the floor with anyone no matter how good they think they might be.

Best Band I've ever seen was Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers or The Rolling Stones. Elvis Costello & The Imposters at Glasgow Barrowlands were invredible.

Others I listen to a lot..........

Steve Earle, Peter Case, Alastair Moock, Darden Smith, Kris Delmhorst, Tim Gearan, Chris Smither, Bruce Molsky

The Earl Brothers, The Packway Handle Band, The Hunger Mountain Boys, Laura Boosinger

Fiona Mackenzie, The Anna Massie Band, Suncan Chisolm & Ivan Drever, The Groanbox Boys

Sonny Rollins 1992

My favorite bands:
Judas Priest
Guns N Roses
Iron Maiden
Van Halen

Bon Jovi when I'm in the mood for something softer

Went to A LOT of concerts in the 80's and early 90's,
My favorite:
Megadeth and Slayer opening for my all time favorite Judas Priest!

Took my daughter to see Avril Lavigne a couple of years ago and was blown away by how talented she was! Expected a total teeny bopper concert and came away extremely impressed (I've even got some Avril on my iPod but don't tell anyone! )

Favorite Bands: 1975-1984 era = Pink Floyd, Early Iron Maiden, Early Genesis (with Peter Gabriel, with or without Steve Hackett), Led Zeppelin, Police, Simple Minds, U2, ZZ Top. 60's: Beatles, Animals, Petula Clark. Modern (1985+): Foo Fighters, Sarah McLachlan, Dixie Chicks, Enya.

Best live show: Pink Floyd at the Big O in Montreal (1977), The Police at the Spectrum in Montreal in 1985.

Oasis

I like a bit of everything, but favourites include...

Sigur Ros, The Shins, Elbow, Echobelly, Jack Johnson, Stereophonics, Fleetwood Mac, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, Eric Clapton, Terrorvision... oh the list goes on and on...

Best live acts I've ever seen are Elbow, Echobely and (I wonder if anyone will have heard of these guys...) Bis. Black Sabbath were pretty good too.

Favourites are;
Dead Can Dance, Godspeed you! Black Emperor, Bathory, Bauhaus, Arcturus, Boyd Rice/NON, Danzig, Godflesh, Slayer, Gorgoroth, Soundgarden, Ulver.

The best live performance i've seen was by Bauhaus on their Reformation tour of '99 (I think), but the best gig i went to was Deicide in Manchester around '92. We had police on the stage, bomb squads, evacuations, controlled explosions, mini-riots... and then the band take the stage for a very brutal 50 minutes. Awesome!

Hmmm…

What I listen too depends on my mood… From driving, relaxing with a cup of coffee, or dancing the night away. As for both my wife and I, we love music.

A few of my personal favorite bands are…Dire Straits, Eagles - (my driving music), U2, Moby, Sting, and Sade. The other types of music I also like are, Classical and Movie Tunes from Major Motion pictures.

However, when I am with the wife…we also both enjoy listening to Lara Fabian, Helene Segara, Eros Ramazotti, Andrea Bocelli, Laura Pausini, and Andre Rieu, just to name of few…

And last but not least, I shall not forget my all time favorite Female Vocalist – Celine Dion (have all her CD’s). I also brought my wife for our anniversary to see one of her performances at the Caesars Palace and we loved every minute of it.

I've had 4 or 5 front rows at Dylan concerts. He's a bit scary close up. Tiny wee man.
