what do these mods involve/what do they do??

ok i did ask in the newbies forum but got no answers :/

could somebody explain what the below are and what benefits they bring? (sorry if there stupid questions lol)

intravee (whast this??)
CDV (Cluth Delay Valve???) whats the purpose of this and is it a good/easy mod??
sound gen mod?? (i have an aftermarket exhaust so would this matter??)
DISA replacement??

1. Intravee is the interface between an iPod and the BMW sound system (need an Alpine unit as well though). It uses your NAV screen (assuming you don't have a flimper spec car), to display and control your iPod. Also provides a lot of other info like distance of PDC, service info. It integrates into the k-bus so can get all the info from there.

2. Restriction in clutch pipe which reduces the fluid flow. This was implemented to protect the drive train from sudden clutch releases. Removing this on non M cars makes the clutch handling like a normal clutch without the jerky 1 - 2 shifting issue

3. Standard on the 3.0, the mod is done on smaller models to move some engine sound into the cabin. No performance impact, just a noise generator.

2. good to know the dodgy gear changes from 1-2 isnt my fault, how much is this to get rectified/replaced???

3. mine sounds loud as it is due to aftermarket exhaust (mines only the baby 2.0lt), how much is this or how easy is it to do myself?

4. best i look into if mines faulty or not

1. You can still use it on the standard radio, but navigation is a little more cumbersome and you might be better with a cheaper unit like a DICE
2. DIY - you can remove the obstruction which is a metal clamp in there if you are handy, or replace the unit with a Zeckhausen pre-modified unit (their web site description:

Or you can remove it altogether and join the pipe back up. All DIY level.

I replaced 3 of these units in total, not difficult but I am not great working laying on my back on something above me. (and no, prostitution would not be suitable for me )

3. I don't know if it fits the 2.0 engine, sorry.
