What do people think of this Z4C?

nice, the wheels do look tatty but the spec is brilliant.

Dont know why it is but i alway look for cars that have done < 40k miles.

Must be a mental thing that im put off anything that has done over 40.

Personally ( having just bought one privately) I thought 15k was too much. It now seems about right

Worton - glad to help. That car has got to be worth a look if the price has been reduced. I think there are plenty of folk looking for good coupe bargains out there so don't hang around - I missed out on a few I was interested in looking at. Perhaps someone on here who is nearby can take a look at it for you - perhaps start another thread asking. It may save you 4 hours.
Be careful and check the details before you make the journey - don't assume AUC means the car has been serviced properly (I posted on here a few weeks ago about a car on the BMW AUC site with a missing service). Call the BMW customer service line (£1 per minute) and get all the dates when it was in for work at a BMW dealer (for servicing and repairs) - then call each dealer up and see what they will tell you (they are not supposed to give info on repairs only services but if you get the right person and are polite you may get more info than you think).

One Team and Taz - thanks. Really pleased with the car.

Nice spec. But be warned. They are very thirsty cars and you should expect mid to low 20s for daily average driving.

Had a 3.0i auto and believe me 220 miles to a tank is not pleasant!

Good luck in whatever decision you make.

I think they are very good on petrol I get around 33 on every day driving which for a 3 litre is very good and mine is an auto,an excellent box .I much prefer it to my wifes Audi auto.

Doesn't look like it has full leather
True, it only has the half leather interior. As leather was free, it takes a very unusual person to down spec it to cloth.

Being honest, I think you would need to be prepared for the lack of full cow being a problem when you come to sell.

Just had a response from the salesman there. i sent him an email regarding my questions and his answers were attached to my email in bold.

Regarding his wheel comment i forwarded the photo of the damaged wheel from the bmw site. Is it just me or do the answers feel a little blunt? this is the first time ive asked any questions about the car and the second time ive properly spoke to him.

Here you are Chris.

How many previous owners has it had 3
- What's the service history like Service 28/9/08 15983 miles & 7/6/10 32861 Miles
- Are there any scratches or dents on the outside of the car Very small graze to front edge of valance
- Have any panels or things been replaced on the car Not that I know of
- Ive noticed the car has half leather interior, is there a reason for this as i understand full leather was standard in the car
Some people prefer not to sit on leather due to the heat / cold so order without it
- The wheels look in particularly bad condition, would these be refurbished for purchase? I don’t know why you think they are bad. They are fine.
- How much use roughly do the tyres and brakes have left All tyres and brakes have to be to BMW used car spec in order for us to sell the car.
- What's the interior condition like? Fine
- As they are the worst part of the interior to wear what condition are the seat bolsters in and could you take some photos?
See Photos attached

Ive heard that BMW Sytner Coventry are a very good dealer and are near me so i might pop in and ask them if they have any coupes in stock.

Update: Ive just had a response about the wheels: This must have been sorted previously as no wheels on the car are like that Chris.

That is a dreadful reply!!! AVOID!

I wouldn't buy a car from there now on principle. Dreadful responses.

In contrast the email exchanges and conversations I've had with Jason Barker @ Birds have been excellent.

Glad its not just me that thinks he was a bit rude. Cheers One Team ill give birds and sytner a go tomorrow and see if they're going to have anything in soon.

No problem worton.

I had a 3 series recently and was always shocked at how poor the service could be at a BMW dealership.

In my experience, Audi knock spots of BMW when it comes to service at dealerships. Cars aren't as good though!

33mpg? Are you sure? That is above the official combined listing for fuel consumption so your car must be very special. :poke:

^^OP, mark these words should you press on with the purchase.^^

You'd be lucky to see that travelling at motorway speeds for any extended period if your car is a 3.0 auto. :)

Whilst the BMW auto box is a very good one IMO, it does sap fuel consumption and some might say performance. Alebit off the line to 60mph and the auto is away, theres not much to keep up..... 8)

to be honest i expect to get about the same as my s2000 which is about 25-30mpg. so on a full 50 litre tank i do about 300 miles which is about 27mpg? That is however around town. My Mini Cooper S was the best ever mpg/performance car. got about 42mpg on the motorway but it was so quick and fun to drive. id have one again if i wasnt getting a z4

been to southport today .Up through Liverpool and back through Ormskirk and M58 M6 and M56 back to Shropshire. So a mixture of roads.Speed coming back averaged 70 to 80 on the motorway. Car is reading 33.6 mpg. Never saw another Z4 all day.Lots of attention on the front at southport outside Marine Gate Mansions

Ok I've spoken to a guy named Jason at Sytner Coventry and its a completely different story. He was very nice, knew hid cars and genuinely seemed very good at his job. They don't have much in yet but he's pointed me towards this:

http://www.sytner.co.uk/bmw/search/...iff-225570-974896.aspx?st=Vehicle&vhl=-225570

I like the spec, black is nice and love the colour interior, the only thing I'm not sure about is the wood gloss finish on the dash and the mileage seems high for the price.

as for purchasing off them id happily pay a bit extra as I felt like I could trust them

Hi, I'm In the Market fo a z4 coupe. I've been looking for about a month now and came across this on BMW.co.uk:

http://bmw.co.uk/bmwuk/bmwauc/details/0,,1156___ask-4@adm-xx,00.html?ch=_V0JBRFU1MjAwMExFOTAwNjU=

Its not my favourite colour but I like the spec, just seems a good price for the car IMO. Id prefer an auto as I do alot of town driving, are the auto boxes any good in these cars? I'd still like a sporty feel but be able to relax when I'm on a long drive.

Thats my old car! I owned it for 2 years and traded it for a S2000 in April.

Worton, PM me any questions and I'll tell you the full condition of the car before I traded it.

I was at Dick Lovett today having my own car serviced and test driving this:

While there I had a look at this 3.0Si Coupe Auto, and overall condition looks good. Here it is:

I know that the OP has queried the condition of the wheels, so here's a close up of the front near side:

Other than a bit of tyre trim splatter, it looks fine. I'd want the roundels replaced though.

Also, can confirm, not full leather, but actually the half leather half cloth looks alright. I agree though, odd choice, but a dealer could have ordered it thus, not necessarily the customer.

Hope that helps (M3 was epic by the way ;-) )

Thanks smokedog I definitely will do. And thabks a lot James_g for going out of your way and doing that, much appreciated.
