Rigtho sorry mate not my finest reading this morning, trying to keep up with the kids in the playpark on holiday
Had the aircon re gassed, came home swapped 140mm 50n springs for 160mm 70nm leaving out the helpers, put in some front brake cooling, put the AD09's back on then checked the allingments which were all spot On. Lastly I started drinking Cider which will probably take as long as that lot did

Track Day at Anglesey today, perfect weather and the car was a Dream. Never bother with timing etc but with a bit of effort we kept up some pretty tasty cars. Met another Z4 who tried to get some driving for his mates who had driven over from Istanbul but had to make do with hanging over the pit wall instead. 5 red flags AM and lost count PM but most were very mild and cleared quickly. My baby boy didn't let the TVR side down and cooked his alternator but driving over to Betws y coed to pick a replacement to pick up a second hand one gave us another awesome drive. The chap refused (a TVR club member) to take any cash, bloody awesome. There's a bit of rain forecast for the drive home tomorrow but I'm sure it won't spoil the drive through God country

Climbed to the top of the hill in the Mach loop on the way home but the pussy pilots didn't like the fog and rain
so we did some more investigating the coefficient of Welsh tarmac friction and got home about an hour ago, absolutely knackered but will dig some pics out over the next couple of days.

Got a few photos, nothing too special. They can't capture the atmosphere but will always remind me of a great day. The one of me and my baby boy with a noisy green thing in the middle was cool, he got past me but couldn't shake Tom off of his ass.

Almost a tradition at this point but did my annual swapping of wheel liners lol. BMW Genuine liners retail for $350/ea so I just go with generic non-M ones for $20/ea. Oddly it’s always the backside of the front right liner that takes a beating. Usually pulls out from the side sill and makes contact with tires. I think it’s a function of the tracks I most frequent. But the overall fitment is actually ok. It’s just the plastic is very thin compared to factory ones. Maybe I should double stack the liners

Not sure if these guys ship across the pond. Right side is showing OOS but you can check to see if anyone else carries them:

Fwiw I’ve installed these half a dozen times and the fitment is fine. There might be one hole that doesn’t line up but everything else matches. And FWIW my curiosity got to the best of me and I was able to confirm double liners not only work but it makes them much stiffer.
Pro-tips
1. Optional - Drill pair of holes and secure the both liners with zip ties. This has added benefit of better hole alignment and making the liners mire rigid. But don’t go crazy, I only added one zip tie towards the ‘rear’ (i.e. behind the tire). And I may add one more towards the front where it matches up the bumper outside edge.
2. Start with the center top holes near the strut mount. Then work your way down and to outside.
3. No need to double stack the headlight covers. If anything that makes it tougher to install because the covers rely on cheap sheet screws which makes sandwiching the liners more difficult. See pic below - you can see those yellow screws I’m referring to. Just kept the inner most cover/screw closest to the headlight.
Don’t mind the bumper wing. It didn’t need to come off but I just used this opportunity to replace the worn support bracket.

Also I should add that’s a very common spot. Unfortunately our cars have pretty weak fender tire accommodations unlike most M cars. After trying countless combinations of wheel width/offset, tire width/profile, ride height and alignment settings, I think I FINALLY cracked this nut.
Obviously YMMV but I found the most aggressive I can go is 245/40 up front on 18x9.5 et35 or 9.0 et30 — basically 1/3 to 1/2” shorter than stock M tires. I’m also running -3.5 camber. Car is low but not slammed.
Running 255+ or wider is really tough. It may look like there’s static clearance but it would rub during hard compression. Or do what I did till now which was replace the liners annually

Thanks. They list only one side in stock at the moment, but the give prices in Australian dollars, so presumably they’ll ship them to me in Sydney. I’ll contact them.
