What cups for the cup holders

Always one to ask the important questions in life... here goes :D

I'm off on a hoon around europe next month and the subject of places to keep a water bottle cropped up...

My Z4 has the luxurious cup holder option, yet they seem very shallow and I have yet to find a bottle that will fit in them as they are flimsy and not very deep. Does anyone have any suggestions what cup/bottles fit as

looks like an accident waiting to happen at the first bump in the road :headbang:

I find they grip any size if you squeeze the side retainer in. Failing that why not use a sports /cycle sized drinks bottle?

Must admit I've never had any issues with spilling drinks since I installed the cup holders. They've had coffee cups, cans and bottles with no issues .

Once I actually figured out that they were adjustable they've been great - they take all sizes of bottles and hold them securely

I've never held anything in them, even with the side adjusted it just seems too flimsy.

We will be driving too hard anyway Adam ;)

I've had a 1 litre 'sports bottle' drink in there in the past, and that did 200 miles without coming out.

Also had 500ml cans of Relentless and they were fine too.

Not long to go now until the Mont Blanc assault commences, when you back in the country?... have to catch up before we go 8) :D

That first day drive is going to be thirsty work blasting down the motorways, may just have to sling a few bottles in the cargo net in the footwell

Just given mine a shakedown run after cleaning my DISA, intake and throttle adaption reset... feeling good, new tyres on the back are scrubbing in nicely too although not happy with the refurb on my wheels but alas can't sort that till after the trip. :headbang:

I'm back on the 31st - just under 3 weeks till I'm out the desert and back!! :D

I got Matt insured on my car, so we can share the driving which will be a bit easier - we are going to stock up on drinks and make a few sandwiches before we go. Last time we went to the ring, we overestimated how much we needed for the journey, and they managed to last us 3 days!!

I've told my Dad to check the car over, brakes, tyres etc before I get back - in case anything needs doing. Need to make sure the brakes are in good condition for the passes!! I think they should be fine, but they're crap anyway even with new pads/discs on them - I've had fade from them a few times after successive braking on PH Runs. Was tempted with an upgrade, but for the amount of time I use the car, it's not worth it.

I've got the Euro Cover sorted with the warranty - have you got cover? Need to find some high vis jackets, and that headlight flap when I get back.

Are you going to do the Fantasticable?

Never had any spillages myself. I tend to have Evian bottles in it, they fit well.
