I really like the MX5. 8) Not quite big enough for me to get comfy for a long drive in though.

Same here, if Mazda had only made it a tad larger say Z3 size as it always to me looks a little too toy like on the road.

Fiat 124

The badge on the boot lid spoils it for me, also think it has a small engine so preformance could be from it being light weight and nimble

I think the 124 Spyder looks so much better than the MX5.

But sadly the Mazda could have a 2 litre N/A engine and an LSD whereas the Fiat has a 1.4 Turbo and no LSD unless you buy the Abarth, so I imagine the Mazda would be a better drive.

I’m glad i owned one for a few years but don’t think I’d have another-i like my creature comforts these days
They’re definitely a car that should be experienced if you’re a petrolhead though.

I'm with Rob, every petrolhead should at one time in their life own an Elise chassis and experience being properly connected to the road!

Otherwise, I do love the mk2 SLK look with the F1 inspired front end (appreciate its marmite though) and in V8 format is fantastic

The Fiat Barchetta is stunning, shame they are LHD!

I saw a Honda S660 at a show recently, they look brilliant too, I love how they show off the engine bay etc.

Of course you can then go back in to British sports car eras of the 70s and they all look absolutely fantastic, even if they fall apart during use!
