Settled on the model and spec and have 2 i.m looking at..... what would you do, interlagos blue or black

Blue is June 07 o7 plate with 40k and private sale, though the interior is champagne, which i'm not yet sure about, no cup holders ( didn;t know they were options).... Black is older, Sep 06 on a 56with 47k, but in black with a nice nappa interior... and from a main dealer, so has a years warranty....

I thought i loved black, but the blue is a bit of a deal ! HELP :cry:
 
I love the Interlagos / Champagne, Interlagos is fairly popular because like the red it's a launch colour - just not many with Champagne too. It has 5 months of warranty left?

Black and black would be a bit much for me, a years warranty is useful but if the other one is still within, it's 850pa to extend it, so that may help balance your figures.

I'm almost jealous, you're going to be a very happy man soon :thumbsup:
 
I wanted Black with Sepang leather, my favourite, but this car came up (black on black) and it was too good a deal to refuse. Black looks awesome when detailed but it's a definitely a real pain to keep looking sharp if you are a perfectionist. Stone chips and scratches are more obvious.

I like the Interlagos but for me black (or silver grey) are best. When it's clean it's hard to beat :)

As far as I recall, you can retrofit cup holders, although I am not surprised they weren't originally specced as it's not that kind of car. Are you sure you'd need them? Depends how long your commute is I suppose.

Champagne I love, but it marks quite easily, especially on the driver's bolster where you slide in and out. Plus go careful if you have new jeans, as the dye can sometimes mark it. When I was looking there were a few comments from people that champagne didn't suit that car, but I ignored them as I really like it. Looks fab with a piano black dash and any dark colour in my opinion. Like Interlagos blue too, but only on Roadsters - doesn't seem to work so well on Coupes to my eyes.

In the end I found my perfect colour combo of silver grey with red, and I wanted it so much that I sacrificed a bit of spec to get it. So I have no Nav, no Bluetooth, no cruise, no heated seats, no folding wing mirrors etc. But everything else is present and correct.
 
The black interior (on whatever colour exterior) will get very hot in summer - although the benefit is it doesn't show any dirt.

I'm not a big fan of leather, but there is no 'no leather' option for the M, so I decided it had to be one of the lighter leathers - initially champagne or light sepang (and then I added the amarone red as I saw it in an alpine white car).

Which 'black' paint is the black one - ruby black (very dark red), cosmos black (very dark blue), sapphire black (charcoal), or black (not sure there is just a 'black' black).

Does the champagne one have extended leather or normal?
 
And ALL M cars have nappa leather ... (unless it was a individual option for a different type). Nappa is standard though, Oregon standard on the non M models.
 
Just remember - if you go for black (or any dark colour), you will be washing it or wanting to wash it every time it has been out. And you will see every minor blemish.

Looks good shiny though!
 
Black is best, simples. I'd left mine for over a month and had started to like the crud in a wierd way but now it's shiny again...ah well I guess I'll have to accept it's getting washed every weekend again! Be prepared for strange looks from the neighbours :P
 
Are you going for the coupe or roadster?

I think the black suits the coupe and the blue the roadster...
 
I went from a black 3.0si to Interlagos Z4MC. Black more menacing, blue more in your face. Overall prefer the blue. Would be worried about keeping a light leather clean though.

Keeping light leather clean is easy. Mine is a daily driver and so far I've found the BMW cleather leaner/conditioner (all in one bottle) does the trick. Found a black oily mark on one seat and surprisingly that came off real easy too.

(Sepang leather here)
 
Think Blue with champagne leather would look great. I ended up with mine because i loved the interior, but actaully preferred the blue roadster i looked at from an external point of view, but it had plain black leather and standard dash. Personally i find the z a dark car, even the roadster with the roof up, so the extra lift the coloured leather and piano dash i went for made all the difference. You could always change the seat colour afterwards, just been looking into swapping changing the leather in a disco i am just buying, because that is black with black leather and was quite surprised it can be done quite reasonably.

Champagne is easy to keep clean, i had it an slk and my TT had light grey - i just wiped it over every few weeks with a leather cleaner, made the car smell nice as well.

Which ever one you pick you will love the car, had mind nearly a year and it still love it as much as the day i picked it up.
