What colour/finish for my wheels? Getting refurbed

Hi,

Well I’m loving the new paint job and thankfully even the weather has been kind! No snow or ice = no grit on the roads!

However, the lovely shiny paint is now highlighting the state of the wheels. Not bad by any means, but brake dust contamination and the odd scuff means they aren’t looking their best. So I’ve booked them in to be reconditioned. I’ve also ordered new tyres (not runflats!) and spacers so the wheels fill the arches a bit better.

Should be all finished by the end of next week, so stand by for pictures.

But I’m stuck for ideas for the finish for the wheels. Any suggestions for the colour/finish? I like the silver, but wondering what else I could do. I’m thinking of a really bright silver to make them stand out from the bodywork. What do you think?

Hi Dan,

you have a very elegant car.

Keep them OEM.

Dont go boy racer.

On a black/white car I might tolerate black or dark wheels but on a solver Z4 i think silver suits best.

Thanks, and I think you're right.

I have a black chrome finish on the 'M' style wheels which I think works well. Its quite a subtle finish that works well on silver.

Thanks for all the replies. Next issue is there are several different types of silver!

Car is getting a real treat this month, new tyres (non run flats), spacers and the wheel refurb
