What Checks / Servicing To Do...?

Ok, I know this info is all in this excellent site but just trying to make sure I've not missed anything obvious...

Had the car a few weeks now and loving it. Done a few simple mods (see sig) and feel I ought to give it a mechanical once over as well.

So far from surfing the site I reckon the following are relatively straightforward and worth doing (in no particualr order):
Check and clean/replace air filter
Check and clean MAF
Check and clean DISA
Clear out drains (on the car...obviously!)
Clean grease out of wiper mechanism (wipers parked incorrectly the other day)
Switch to using V-Power (without wishing to re-open THAT debate!)

Any other checks worth doing? I thought maybe a spark plug change? I reckon half a day or so should get me through most of that lot.

If the car has recently had an inspection, then the filters will have been changed, as will the spark plugs. If it's only had a recent oil change then the plugs will not have been changed - but a quick visual check of them will tell you if they're okay or not.

So the only items you'd need to check are the MAF, DISA, wipers.

Yep I need to have a closer look at the detail of the history / servicing schedule rather than just the stamps - it was a private purchase and the car is telling me 8000 miles to next inspection. Are the plugs changed at all inspections? It's my first BMW so still getting my head round the whole Inspection I / Inspection II thing.

If it were me I would do a full service at the start of my ownership just to satisfy myself that all was OK and then go on from there.
