What car do you wish you'd bought but never did?

I don't really regret it, but in my younger days I'd have quite liked to have got a bike license and had a brief affair with something two-wheeled and big engined!

I can't think of any regrets for cars though. Only aspirations.
 
In 1984 when I was 19 my dad was working near Porstmouth, I was about to buy a Porsche 924 and he phoned me to tell me about a 1973 911 2.4S Yellow Targa with a ducktail spoiler, the owner was an AFN Porsche Mechanic and it had done 85,000 miles, I declined because at the time I liked the newer impact bumper 911SC, they were around the 12K mark at the time.

The 2.4S was for sale at £5250 and I paid £5500 for the 924 :headbang: :headbang: :headbang:

I had a dilemma like this getting out of a E46 M3, never drove a CSL and thought it would be too similar to the M3. Bought the Z4MC instead, reckon a good CSL would have lost little in comparison.

I learn from my mistakes obviously, should probably still have bought a good CSL last week instead of the Spyder, I know which will lose more!!

TVR S2 years ago, only £1000 at the time as the guy I knew was skint, fully mechanically rebuilt though in need of a complete respray.
 
I was offered a Lotus Elan Sprint for £1300 back in the eighties, but couldn't justify it then with 3 young kids. Wish I had it now.

JFDI. I got stuck in an airport lounge a number of years ago and the only magazine they had in English was 'Bike', four weeks later I had completed an intensive direct access course, got my license and had a CBR600 in the garage, this was followed by a 955i Daytona and then a Tuono 1000 Racing :D
 
Triumph TR5, bought a 1974 MGB roadster instead, but happy memories none the less :)
 
A Ferrari 365BB. I bought a house instead. If I'd bought the car and sold it at the peak of the supercar feeding frenzy I'd have no mortgage right now

i drove behing a nice 1 tonight, it had RV8 on it, what ever that is - very nice
 
Ford RS2000 as bodie's from "The professionals's" white , it had fishnets , i was 19 & could afford the £2000 so i thought i was about to enter motoring mecca , , , , , , , , until the insurance quote of £1500 :o :o dream destroyed & ended up with a opel manta berlinetta :wink:

Both great cars from that era. I really wanted a Manta saloon with the 400 bodykit in white at the time.

circa 2000 I believe. Can you believe 3.9ltr and sub 200bhp :o

haha. Funny.
I was offered a 1978 hardtop MGB and bought a TR7 instead. Oh well.
