What car did you pass your test in?

Lessons and test were taken in a 1997 Nissan Micra 1.0 (in 1997, so not rusty like below). It was almost enough to put me off choosing him as my instructor, but he had a great reputation (although a sh*te taste in cars):

a ford ka 1.3  didn't even have wheel trims, proper poverty spec.

was actually really easy to drive, albeit very girly.

All the kids these days get to learn to drive in MINIs... wish I had instead of a sh1tty old Escort :(

Puma 1.7 which was lowered - and yes it was the driving instructors car!

Was that around Chester as one instructed had one like that I'm sure!

Mine was a corsa........diesel

1990 Ford Fiesta - driving instructors car

Mum's car at the time was a 1990 1.4l Vauxhall Astra L... which I'd already crashed before the test... passed first time though :D

Driving instructors car 2000 Ford Fiesta 1.8D. Sounds horrid (was horrid), but was amazing as a learner car. Could drop the clutch and it would just pull away, happily trundle along at 30mph in top gear and could never go fast enough to get into any trouble. Passed first time, no minors, couldn't have been my driving skill so must have been the car :D

And a generation on, my daughter takes her test at the end of the month in a current generation Ford Fiesta... Fingers crossed!

I was lucky and was insured in my dads company car scheme so for me it was 3.2 A6 Quattro that I'd used for all of my driving lessons. Great fun but with hindsight I'd never let my children loose in such a powerful car so early on. It gave me a great few years of fun before uni but I'm amazed I never crashed it or got caught speeding!

ford escort van with five cwt of sand in the back. I put it there to force myself to drive deliberately, signposting my intentions, with loads of anticipation and smoothness.

having failed to pass five times previously I was aware that my performance was being let down by excessive confidence.

Passed first time in a Triumph Dolomite 1300. BSM car. :)

Went out next day and bought a Mk3 Ford Zephyr Zodiac. Now that was a car that needed a cwt of sand it the boot :)
