What car did you pass your test in?

1963 Mini 850cc

Paid £50. Taught myself to drive on a new road near my house that was under construction. No lessons aside my dad teaching me the basics in his car on campsites (which some would say is clear to see) and passed first time. Got a warning for hand signals at the same time as changing gear, when he asked me who was steering?

1978 passed in a short wheelbase airportable landrover in Germany, never took a UK licence! (Army by the way) !!

It was 2004 in a Renault Megane and I was 17, was the instructors car, she had a Clio to start with then changed to the Megane,
All I remember thinking is the Clio had the heaviest clutch lol

Passed at 17, was learning in an 06 Citroen C4, horrid looking car!

It was usually cool to be seen learning to drive at 17 amongst friends, I however felt the need to hide if I ever spotted a familiar face.

Diesel Clio! Non turbo! It was so awful. My driving instuctor was so old he fell asleep on my first lesson whilst I was driving down a country lane! He only woke up because I over cooked it into a bend and hit the brakes pretty hard, jerking him forward. It was hilarious!!!!

Metro GTa - that 72bhp felt fast considering I'd had most of my lessons in a 52bhp 1.0 Micra.

Passed first time in 1967 in an Austin 1100 - modern car in those days.

An early 80s Vauxhall Chevette saloon. I remember the car's clutch burnt out the week before my test and I only drove the car again on my test day and had to quickly work out where the new biting point was.

The clutch burn out was probably due to having to do the hill start on this hill, as this was the favorite spot for the examiners.
