Apparently the E85 Z4 is second only to the MX5. Well they've clearly got that wrong!!! :rofl: :rofl: :rofl:
 
Clearly the reviewer doesn't care too much about bhp: you’ll enjoy yourself nearly as much in the spirited 2.0-litre four-cylinder model not surprising then that the MX5 comes out on top.
 
Probably right, if I'm honest.

I love having the power and sound of the 6 cylinder engine, which you don't get in an Mx5.

But you could still do just as good a job of killing yourself down a tight country lane, where the Mx5 probably performs better.
 
The MX5's biggest failing for me, is they're just too dam small inside!!! The power you can increase and there's no doubting they're great fun to drive if a little unrefined. The LSD most of them have certainly helps in that respect, its the Z4 (and most modern non M BMWs for that matter) single biggest failing.
They're fine if your 5'6" and like a rake. Anything approaching 6' or broad shouldered/chunky and you go to shut the door and it bounces of your shoulder!!! Same issue with the Honda S2000.
 
Hate to say it but the MX5 is a great car and well deserved to be honest.

No straight 6 granted but as roadsters go the MX5 is hard to beat for the price!
 
I always find it amazing that they seem to find such low mileage well priced cars for these reviews. Try and replicate their "Finds"
Always baffles me.
 
I love how they found a weak pathetic A4 1.8T... neglecting to mention you can scrape an V8 S4 Cab for 5k.. which should top the list.

And no Volvo C70 T5's?

Guessing there were no S2ks going cheap in the 5 mins they wrote the article in?
