I have a scrape on the wheel arch, its been there since I bought the car, other than that its spotless.

what do you think my options are? I will be getting Polisher in April but I guess it a bit beyond polishing out.

its about 2cm long, not as deep as it might look on the pictures but you can feel it with your nail

I'd say you have three options:

1) use a heavy cut compound to try and blend it in, it would gloss the scratch slightly and soften the edges to stop them relecting the light so much.
2) fill it in with a touch up kit, mix paint & lacquer 50/50 build up in coats then wet sand and polish. Would be 80-90% better
3) get the panel painted by a body shop, you do however run the risk of not having a 100% matched panel even if they blend into the next panel.

If it was me in your position I would go with option 2 and see how you get on, you could get a pro to sort it, plenty of mobile paint/scratch guys about. Post your query on detailing world there are pro's on there that I no doubt could sort it.

Hope this helps.

Has it broken through to the undercoat?
If so the touch is required.

If just in lacquer or paint. I should b able to make it almost invisible

thnk I might give option 2 a go, I will be buying a DA polisher in the next few weeks, so I might attemp to fill and wet sand............... scary!!!

You'll be fine, just take your time.
Have a look at the Mirka sanding pads, they have very low abrasion.
