Does anybody know what this bit of the rear console is for (shown with flap/lid opened)?
Seems like it’s designed for something in particular. Or is it as exciting as just another storage compartment?

I also find it pretty useless at storing stuff. Does anyone know if there is a way to get rid of the entire phone cradle thing and have more storage of cup holders like I have seen it done on other BMWs? (probably on the E89)
