What battery

A quick question on the battery for my 3.0si. Does it need a 70ah or a 75ah or does it not make much difference?

Mine is Varta F17 80ah 740A (2004, 3.0).

Type 096. The CCA/AH will vary slightly by brand.

Think mine is on original battery (says BMW on it anyway)

Would my 2008 2.0 need a different battery or same as above? (If so I'll save the details for if/when the inevitable happens)

I had a new battery fitted to my Coupe last year - was surprised to learn that OEM BMW ones are Exide as I thought they would be Bosch.

I'm sure I read somewhere on here that Roadster batteries are slightly higher capacity to cope with the demands of the roof motor!

Simon. Two weeks ago I had to replace my original BMW battery and perchased a Halfords brand HAL BATTERY-B HB096. Product code 952465. Direct replacement and all is good.

Thanks Guys - ECP states that the 70ah is sufficient so I've gone with that. I have a 75ah battery but it's a few years old so could cause issues.
