I get from 25 to 35mpg depending upon how I drive it.I don't use it to commute so very little town driving. I'd easily get worse mpg if I drove it how I'd really like to all the time. There's no way I'd get high 30's as I'd die of boredom doing 70 on motorways.I've managed that a couple of times, but if I try to do that all the time I may as well buy a small hatchback.Round town these things dip below 20mpg.I like feeling the accelaration and hearing the 6 cylinders howling so I cannot even start to get anal about economy. If it answers your question, I don't think there is owt wrong with your car,an there are some pretty careful/saintly/restrained/well behaved drivers on this forum. :D

mine as cost me £2.17 per mile since i owned it
Is that including all costs? Depreciation, etc.

I'm tempted/scared to work out mine now...

thats all cost such as tax, insurance, finance, stubby etc - does not include any depreciation gulp

31mpg for me during the entire time I have owned my Z4C with the 3.0l Si....as stated amazing considering the engine that it is!

26mpg since I bought it 28/12/10.

33mpg Bristol to Market Harborough & back - quite impressed with that!

NOT missing the 50+ MPG of my 520d :driving:

I think you may be right and I agree I dont see the point in travelling slowly on the motorway in this type of car. Thats the main reason I bought it not that im a hooligan driver or anything but I enjoy the speed too much to just tootle along. Im not into the posing side of it either so the faster the better.

By the way, who are these 21 or less folk?

Speak up... I wanna hear how you thrash the life out of yours :driving: :D

That will be me, but it gets worse, I run to my work 2.4 miles, Yes I warm it up after taking it out of the garage, Yes I can give it a spirited drive as its the highlight of my day. Yes I see 14.3mpg

Do I care? Do I fook.

After 24,000 miles my indicated lifetime average is 37.6, in reality during the 500 miles or so during a typical week my actual average is 35.9

If you think that's good, there is 4mm of tread on my original rear tyres and my 1st service isn't due for another 2500 miles and I have only just topped my oil up.

37.6 :o is your throttle pedal broken :poke:

Bored...

Average cost per mile (including ALL costs and depreciation, but not initial purchase price) = £0.52/mile

Average cost per mile (including ALL costs AND initial purchase price) = £1.42/mile

But who gives a sh*t what it costs - best measured in smiles per miles...

My z4 has nav with two gas mileage indicators. One I havn't touched in about 4 years of all different kinds of driving. It reads 26.1 and it hasn't changed in a long time. The second one I readjust once in awhile to check it out and it fluctuates based upon driving speeds, etc. I notice that it will tend toward 26.1 after a bit of driving as well. Z4 Pilot

Same here - my mpg figures posted are what I calculate myself based on what I put in. My on-board computer over-reads by 1-3mpg (I reset it each tankful).

my obc reads 30.4 mpg since i have owned my car, however had a little free time this afternoon.... and calc since i have owned my car its returned 32.9 mpg based on fuel consumption.

So my OBC has under estimated my usage by 2.5mpg.

I need to tick the other box now!

mine is consistently quite close (usually +/- 1.0 per tankful) to what I calculate from odo and petrol
if I could be arsed I'd work out the standard deviation (pause - does that apply to the difference between two series? :tumbleweed: )
