What are you treating your Zed to for Christmas this year?

My car is being treated to cruise control next weekend thanks to AnubisZed. I don’t know if my Zed will appreciate it but the driver certainly will on long Autoroute drives down into France. This is the only extra that I miss on my car so it will be good to have it.

New set of Rubber Mats as she gets used all year round - been looking for some decent rubber mats for a while as you can’t seem to get oem any more. these are new to the market -ordered a pair for the zed and the TT - really good quality and can choose stitching colour and trim colour to match your interior/exterior. Will also be getting a Hoover with the new nilfisk Hoover I’ve asked for as sick of the dyson running out of battery halfway through. When it comes to cars like BMW Mercedes etc, I second that. Down the road from me a used car dealer has just got in a Sdrive18i and it so basic it changes the complete character of the car, it doesn't have leather, sports seats, idrive, heated seats, cruise amongst many other things and it just doesn't feel like a premium car. It's poverty spec redefined! It does though have a wind deflector LOL.

Just had it serviced and the ignition barrel changed. Over Xmas (as I've got 18 days off) I'll be refreshing the leather seats, trying my hand at some touch up painting with my new denibber, giving it a full detail and maybe getting some new suspension if there is anything left in the piggy bank after a recent house move.

I have air con, leather, auto box, iDrive, front & rear PDC, auto wipers, heated seats, smartTOP, so cruise will just finish it off nicely!

I have air con, leather, auto box, iDrive, front & rear PDC, auto wipers, heated seats, smartTOP, so cruise will just finish it off nicely!

My quote of cruise/leather/air con/auto was my 2000s spec....

As you say I now add PDC/inbuilt sat nav/decent audio/heated seats as fairly mandatory

I know others disagree but my pet theory on why some E89s can’t be shifted is that people want the toys and aren’t willing to lowball on spec even if it means it’s cheap..

This is 100% correct, when I was dealing in cars no one in the trade myself included would buy a BMW Mercedes etc unless it had good spec some would buy poverty spec but only if it was extremely dirt cheap. Premium cars without spec are just that bit harder to shift. When I was looking for my Z4 if it didn't have leather, sports seats, folding mirrors, heated seats, cruise, parking sensors and idrive I wouldn't look at it. Where I am now though in Spain buyers seem less fussy and most cars even premium ones are very poorly specced, just like this 18i near me.

Can't you do something? A cover maybe ... to keep the Zed police at bay

covers are a bad idea outside, they hold condensation and can mark paint if they are blowing around in the wind for days on end.

You can buy collapsible garages that fold up like a tent. You drive into the base then just pull the frame up over your car. Sure you can find one via the old google.
