What are these wires?

Hi all,

Is anyone able to identify what these two wires are, and what they are for or could be used for? They’re in the boot, right hand side, one red one black and are just taped off and hanging about. 07 3.0si. Cheers!

They're aftermarket not factory so could be almost anything. You'll have to follow them.

Well the plot thickens. It took a while, but with extreme difficulty I traced them all the way… to the boot light.

I can’t think of anything that would be useful to have tapped off there other than another light?

Any fanciful ideas of what I could/should do with it? Maybe a jingle or something else that’d get very annoying very fast

I reckon someone has previously plumbed in a light strip in the boot

+1 for a light strip. Put one in mine and it's a godsend. Dunno why I went to the bother of splicing in the original hyper dim light to leave it in place!
