During my AUX install I removed the ashtray block to feed through the cable. Beneath it I found two cable with a red and a black connector. What are these for?

Sorry for the poor quality pics

Hmm, I would imagine that one is for the "sport" button, and the other :idunno:

Others will be along shortly to give you a definitive answer :)

One is for the Photo torpedo ejection button, it removes duds from the tube and places them safely on the kerb. The other I think is for the old telephone land line connexion. It was discontinued in the UK before the Z4 launch. Apparently, the amount of telephone cable needed took up too much room in the boot. It would only make EU calls anyway. So, there you have it.

On mine those two connectors plug into a circiut board that is attached to the panel you have shifted to the left in picture 1. Perhaps they could be for heated seats, power top, or sport button like the poster above said.

One (the pink one) is for the dwarf detector: it senses very small but heavy passengers and automatically raises the seat so they can casually dangle their feet over the edge.

Does anyone know if they were supposed to be connected to the module I took out. I didn't feel/notice any connectors coming off when I removed it, but I've never done it before so who knows.

I need to make sure I haven't inadvertently disabled something like heated seats, DSC or something I don't even know about before I reassemble it :o

NB: German connectors are over-engineered, thus the likelyhood of them just disconnecting by a slight pull or tug is tiny.
