What are the electrics under the passenger seat?

A couple of months ago I posted that my car had got wet inside following a rainy night with the roof down :headbang: .

I had some electrical issues, dried the car out and all was fixed! The problem is they have crept back in. It was just the back of the seats that got wet (not the dash) and I am left thinking it has something to do with this set up under the passenger seat:

The problems appear to be the instrument binicle going crazy. Not flashing inside when indicating, not lighting up, etc.

Anybody got any ideas on what is wrong or either how to fix or advice on where/what to do?

Thanks in advance

I would check the part numbers with realoem.com it will give you a description

BMW part numbers are typically 11 digits, no alphabetics, not sure if that's a hard and fast rule though. Might be some sort of aftermarket device if there was a previous owner.

Consider that current problem may be unrelated to earlier water ingress. First thing to check when electronics act strange is the battery strength. Good Luck!

I really don't think it's aftermarket, the other object you can see in the first picture is a small battery so I assumed that is the backup battery on the alarm.

The water was such that the box in question was sat in a puddle of it. One of the problems that happened whilst the water was in there was the battery went completely flat over night. I put it down to something drawing a current that shouldn't be when the car is off.

The battery has a colour system to check the health of it, will have a check tomorrow so thanks for the advice bcworkz!

Sometimes it's easy to get drawn into problem, a fresh opinion makes sense!

Found what I think the problem is, airbag control unit from what I have read here with same situation and problems/symptoms:
