I've never used to be a fan of de-badging, it always made a car look like it was in an accident and repainted. In saying that, I find the ///M badge on my coupe to throw it off balance so it's off, whereas my old roadster looked much better as there was symmetry between the key hole and badge.

Additionally, because of how uncommon and underappreciated these cars are, people have no idea what they are and the fact that it only has a "///M" badge placed on the 'wrong' side of the trunk makes it look like I bought an ///M badge off aliexpress and stuck it on my car - like all those ///M 128i's we have around me.

I do love the fender ///M badges though

Nice, would that happen to be a Ducati 916 prowling in your garage? :)

Close! That's my dad's 996. Funny, as fast and as raw as these cars are - they're nowhere near as exhilarating as this bike that costs only 1/4 of my coupe.

What’s the best way to get the badges off? My passenger side badge is broken, with only the ‘i’ remaining :|

I've used dental floss in a sawing motion and the badges come off in a jiffy, sticky stuff remover gets rid of the residue

I took the Z4 off from the boot and the 3.0i badges from the front wings. Love it, much cleaner look.

Sides, yes. Absolutely!

Rear, I haven’t yet as the roadster boot looks a little unbalanced with the lock on the right if there’s nothing on the left. If I had a hidden lock like the coupe it would be off already!

Hi Smartbear
I hadnt realised that you had one of the newer 2 litre turbo Zeds. Very envious having sat in a few recently at the new Cheltenham showroom. Must admit that I dont know much about the engines on these cars but the one I sat in was an 18i (I think). The sales rep was going on about it being 'M' styled and it certainly had a number of badges on it. However I am sure he said it had 157 bhp which seems a bit low for an 'M' badged car. If he was correct then I certainly agree that you would want that car debadged. I would imagine from your comment that you have a higher output engine.

Slightly higher mike, it's 276bhp with almost 300lbft of torque

Years ago you could buy cars that were debadged. It was a known fact that purchasers of low spec vehicles always asked for this so its was obvious whenever you saw a debadged car that the owner had brought a base vehicle. To us oldies the only reason to debadge a car is to disguise this fact and it shrieks out that you are ashamed of having a low spec vehicle. Dont do it unless you want us oldies laughing at you.s

I did totally the opposite a few years back .. I had an Audi Quattro that I had debadged so it looked no different on a cursory glance from a 1.9 TDI

And also on a 330d

I thought it less likely to be keyed or stolen

Wiki suggests 181bhp and 199lbft for the e89 20i, is that some amazing remap you have or do you have what's badged as a 28i? Even the 28i is rated at 241bhp, 258 lbft, if yours is really 140bhp/lr that's pretty impressive, what did you have done to it?

Oh, and I removed all the badges the day I got the car!

Crikey, that's some gain and nice that max power is moved further up than 4800 from the standard car. Fair play, that must move around pretty nicely with the light engine in the front

It's an expensive remap but the improvement in power is definitely noticeable, more power than my 3.0si produced & that was no slouch!
