Hi all, after my wing shenanigans im in two minds whether to leave it as is for now and just move the 2.0 badge to the correct position, going to try the dental floss route but what adhesive should i use to re-attach?-do bmw do a certain type?-thanks

wing shenanigans??

its like a sponge section with a sticky backing.... not a lot of chance of finding the exact type I guess. bought some of the wing badges to put back on my 3.0i recently.

if I were you I'd take em off and leave it - see if you like it without any

honestly, you'd be better off buying new 2.0 badges from the dealer with the adhesive pre-applied. They're not expensive.

not expensive :? .... I think mine were £34 for two little bits of plastic!

Really??! Maybe I'm thinking the wrong badges. I know the 3.0i badges for me were $14 CDN. I had to place one on my fender after getting it repainted from a parking lot incident.

nope same badges ... 3.0i ones on the wing.

Why did you put one on the bumper??

Sorry I think this is a case of 'lost in translation'. By fender I'm talking about this part of the car.

Someone hit my car in a parking lot giving me a little dent. When I repainted it I removed the indicator (turn signal) and the 3.0i badge. After the paint cured I put a new badge back on.

However, back to the original post.

If you absolutely want to use your original badges then clean off the old adhesive completely and use 3M outdoor double sided tape. (must be the outdoor stuff though!). Put it on the back and use a razor blade to cut off any excess. If you're having trouble getting the residue from the old glue off the back of the badges, some paint thinner will work. Make sure you wash them good and clean the area on your car before re-applying.
