What a first post !

I’ll accept 5£ and 4£ if you or anyone else is offering. Thanks, much appreciated, this is the first actually helpful post here. Is everything else necessary?

To be fair I paid £10.00 for a Bacon roll and a couple of Drinks at a cars and coffee event this morning, so £9.00 for the pair seems pretty decent value

I don’t know if it’s just my old eyes, or the lighting, or the angle, but the PY car in the advert looks to have none of the metallic effect of the proper PY cars?

I also wasn’t sure about the colour, has put it down to bad lighting and being dirty, like the rest of it

To be fair, I’m not sure that’s as incriminating as it looks. Many Z4 colours look completely different in different lights, such as stratus grey, carbon black, Valencia Orange etc.

I admit I thought it looked more like AY than PY in the pictures. Maybe the sprayer got the code wrong?
Anyway, the poor bloke has had it hard enough in the last 24 hours, so PY it is.

I’d have dropped £3k on it but it smells too fishy

I asked for service history and pics of any documentation- not forthcoming

I don’t think there is any history which as you know on a car over 100k makes everyone nervous

So it’s a cat car with no s/h and low spec in a marmite colour

At that it’s worth about £2k as it stands in this market

In the words of Duncan Bannatyne: I’m oooot

So just checking....................

The seller is desperate for them to go ASAP.
You offered on one at 11.34am Sunday morning.
It is now 22 hours later and he hasn't given you any of the information you asked for?

Fishy doesn't cover it does it?

Ahm ooot with you.

I’m always a benefit of the doubt kind of guy- so he may be mega busy

But if I wanted to shift a car urgently and had an offer, I’d be on it like a car bonnet

I remember a similar thread about a Vauxhall VX-220 many years ago that went viral. I have just searched, but can't find it.

Looks like the Roadster is sold, friend of a friend of a friend. For 3k it wouldn't actually be that bad, lack of history wouldn't be the end of the world, so long as it has 12 months mot, would be a decent car to thrash around for a while and then move it on.

There's still the Coupe though, be a shame to miss out on something unique :D

Tim.

I’m still convinced that all these superb threads need placing in a ‘zone gold’ folder

So when we are all feeling like life is getting us down, we can revisit these wondrous journeys into craziness and feel so much better about life

It is indeed meant to be the most depressing monday of the year (not sure if that is due to the clocks going back or Labour's budget), but in any case it provides light reading
