Hi all changed my front side lights for led's today-what a poor design faffing around trying to align the rear cover back :headbang: -i thought bulb replacement was supposed to be possible at the side of a darkened road(with torch)

manufactures should be forced to design so that thinks like light bulb changing is not a dealer job

Totally agree there. I tried to change the headlight bulb on a Golf we had once and had to remove the battery first.

My sisters old Megan scenic thing needed had to have the bumper off to change her front headlight bulb.... £150 labour and £7.99 for parts :x (Plus vat)

I remember 5th gear doing a piece on a megane where they got the Green Flag in to change a headlight bulb only took 45 minutes

Xenon £290.11 + vat :o

Renault should be ashamed of that.

You could easily have the design as it is, then just have the front of the glass/plexiglass unclip like on the pre-facelift e46 3-series...

So many cars are like this now it's a joke, I got so frustrated changing the drivers bulb on my old celica it was quicker for me part remove the bumper and headlight to do it. I also recall having problems with a friends Clio and Corolla. It makes me feel do stupid when I struggle with something as simple as changing a headlight bulb.

Me too :(

Tried to change a h/light bulb in a neighbours clio easy job i thought not a chance, after nearly an hour and losing the spring clip i said he's better off taking it to the dealers,so i'm leaving the Zed's bulbs well alone and only change them when i have to

The side light bulb in my headlight went a few months ago, BMW sell the bulb with the holder at £40+, all the bulbs from halfords are not powerful enough to get rid of the warning light meaning I was driving around with my indicator permitly lit. I did manager to buy a bulb online for £2 and bucher the original holder and re use that.
I think it's shocking you can't just buy a bulb

Hey Andy - never mind the design, did you get them working, & how do they look ? or  ?

I found pushing the bulb holder back into place much harder than closing the rear panel.
Although It really was not a fun job.

My old skyline was open the bonnet, undo the back of the headlight. Simple. None of this through the wheel arch crap.

LED sidelights definitely enhance the look. especially for xenon owners

I remember we had a Reanult Laguna years ago and the dealer quote for changing one headlamp bulb was £370 +VAT.
Apparently to get at the bulb you had to remove the inner wheel arch liner...retarded or what.
