What a Christmas this year is going to be for us! My daughters husband has just walked out leaving her, a three year and five year old daughters.
We are now trying very hard to replan for the sake of the two children.
I know this situation wont be unique but i just need to get it off my chest and freely admit to being a it upset by it all.

I will be glad to see the back of 2020 and hope for better things next year all round.

Bloody hell! Bastard! Whatever the reason, you don't do that to kids at Xmas!

I'm sure you will make it as good as you can for them. Good luck and my best wishes for all your family.

As you can imagine the two girls are somewhat confused/bewildered by it all. I do think that no matter what their differences or his desires are, that he could have kept his powder dry until after this Christmas period .

Our house is of a reasonable size but it has had to have a lot of re arranging and the purchase of new beds etc to accommodate the three of them.

Bugger! Has he kicked them out then?
Times like this you need a Taser!

It’s patently obvious his parents weren’t married. My heart goes out to you and your family at the end of a terrible year.

No, he has walked out but leaving my daughter and the two girls.
Their house is only a year old, cupboards and fridge full but she is finding it difficult to cope so us crusty old parents stepped forward.

Official proceedings start Jan 2021 as there's no going back for them.

Well done you.
Not an easy time, but at least she has you to fall back on.

I'd suggest once she's out, you wire her front door handle to the mains and hope he comes back!

That's awful Ron, heart goes out to you and these people always seem to drop these bombshells at this time of year

Tim.

From the sounds of it ,your daughter and the kids are best shut of him.Good on you and your good lady for giving much needed support.

What a sh1t leaving 2 youngsters at this time of year.

Good for you stepping up OP - I hope you can all find some Xmas cheer. At least he won't be there!

Like you I can't wait to see the back of 2020 since my Mum passed away in her residential home last month - 2021 has to be better.

Not good to hear, but as we don't know the circumstances, shouldn't comment on why he left, but it's such a shame for the kids.
They will forever associate Christmas with their Dad leaving. Not good!!

Hopefully things get better next year, for all if us.

That is really sh#ty. These things always seem to happen at Christmas. All you can do is be there for them to offer support. Deal with the hard facts and the finances, for your daughter, in as remote a fashion as you are able in the circumstances. The upside will be hard earned, but you will all end up closer and stronger.

It's two years now since our daughter left her partner of 13 years. at Christmas and she has recently moved into her own house again.

Good luck and stay positive.

On a positive note you’ll get to spend some quality time with your grandchildren, spoil them rotten :D

Don’t know the circumstances though am sure, both your daughter & your family will work it out.

Being once on the receiving end of this kinda shite can only say one day you’ll all look back & say was the best thing that could have happened.. it’ll just take a bit of time. What goes around comes around.

Chin up, always

Unless there are really quite hard mental issues it’s pretty difficult to comprehend why someone would just walk out on such young ones, if it’s purely that the relationship has broken down then he’s an utter asswipe for putting himself first, beggars belief tbh.

All,I can say is best wishes for as good as you and your family can make it Ronk...lots of big soppy hugs.

Ahem, I’m not sure Mrs Ronk would take kindly to that :D

However, maybe Mrs Ronk would like to see you in a skimpy Santa outfit, though, please don’t publish any pictures
