wet patch problem.

No, not in my pants, but my car has one. A rather large one.

Been getting a funky smell inside for a while, always after it rains. Went in for a service a while back and the guy mentioned it so thought i'd investigate.

Looked under the passenger seat and saw a wet patch in the groove of the carpet, so lifted it up to be greeted with a small paddling pool.

I then felt the rest of the carpet and felt another wet patch by the door.

Does anyone have any idea's what would cause this?

From what I've read on this forum the most likely culprit is the door membrane, has the window regulator been replaced/repaired to your knowledge?

Thought we were going to see a picture of yer trousers....

Also worth checking - windscreen seals. My last zed had a split which led water inside the cabin. Bit of clear silicone sorted it

Not had a Window regulator repaired AFAIK, bottom of the door was dry also. Owned this car nearly 2 years now.

Windscreen was replaced last year and new seal is perfect.

Just found my passenger side carpet wet-membrane okay, when I poured some water down the scuttle drain it was very slow to drain out-then a lot of crap fell out-dried carpet with hairdryer/kitchen roll-I will be keeping my eye on it tho

Hope you get this sorted, it's almost more annoying than a mechanical fault as it's hard to diagnose.

Once you do get it fixed buy yourself a pingi bag and leave it behind the seat. They're only cheap and help to draw up the moisture.
