Wet foot wells

Both my door membranes have gone so my dealer tells me. Water is leaking into the foot wells and its not covered under warranty. Is there an easy fix ? otherwise its them doing and have no idea what the charge is yet until the morning.

Dealer says dont cover seals. Bit pants really as you would expect a prestige brand not to leak under five years old.

seals seem to be excluded for some reason or other from what other members have posted.

would suggest it's a DIY job

I find it hard to believe that both door seals have gone at once. When i had a leak into the footwells in mine it was the heater matrix that was causing it.

that's a good point for both to go at the same time.

The dealer confirmed what i already have seen. When the car is wet the water runs down the front of the door and sits on top of the seal running into the foot well.

Exotica, have a read of these...

Exotica - start by taking both door panels off. I guarantee you'll find that a previous ovner has damaged the membrane that seals the inside of the door. The idea is that water that gets in by the glass runs down the inside of the door and out the bottom. A damaged membrane allows it into the car.

as you'll see on the links Mike copied I had this problem when I first got the zed and fixed it. No trouble ever since.

I had a similar issue and just made another small hole in the rubber close to the one already there, no water has got in since
