As it's a tough place for graduates right now, I hope this might be useful.

Intel is looking for a recent college graduate (Bachelors level) to join our customer business operations team. This is an entry level graduate role but there is scope to progress within what I consider to be one of the best companies in the world. The role is considered to be the starting point for a good career and will be office based in Swindon. The current incumbent has been promoted into a new role and in the 14 or so months he was in the role he's travelled to Scotland, China and Las Vegas. (No guarantee of travel outside of Swindon though!) Other people in this role have gone onto Senior Management, Field Sales etc.

The job has not yet been published externally, I know about it because the role is supporting my customer and my team and I have the OK to make recommendations/gather CVs. The role will not report to me. I know a few people were interested last time but we filled from our Intern pool. This time all the Interns we wanted to hire have been hired so we're looking externally.

Isn't it a university graduate not a college graduate you're after for them to have Bachelor's level education

Interesting though, I did business through college but never went to university in the end, apprenticeships are the way forwards IMHO.

Sheesh, you post something positive and along comes a critic. We're an American company, the terminology is college. And when Oxford and Cambridge are groups of colleges that make up their respective universities...

Incidentally, I did an apprenticeship too, that led to a degree.

Oh god wasn't meant in the manor it came across as , was just basing it off your location being the UK.

Apologies for the way it came across, wording was not thought through thoroughly. Definitely is a positive specially in the current job climate for graduates, specially for such a company, was lucky enough to follow something similar myself to get into the IT industry.

If you're doing a full time 4 yr sandwich degree we offer an intern program for the 3rd year placement. It's paid too, not one of these slave labour so called work experience programs.

Just forwarded this to my brother, who knows. Clever guy, afraid he has an SLK but graduated recently ish from Business in Sheffield, did a sandwich course with a year at ronseal with international account and currently crunches numbers for a company analysing but is on the lookout.
