Hi Guys

Well the weather was amazing!

So roof off action was required! never really thought about the fact the roof came off when I bought the Exige great little extra!

:D

Enjoy

It would appear you own a very fine example of the breed known as Bombus Apidae.

(here's hoping I googled that correctly) :)

Congratulations on your new toy. great car!! I was curious to find out what you were going to replace the porsche with. I believe that you made the right decision. :D

That's fantastic

I did not know the roof came off the Exige - I assume you couldn't take it with you though ?

A-mazing. You definitely had the weather for it. Much fuel was burnt this weekend across the forum!

Good point-does it store in the boot?

No boot - there's a 3 point something litre turbo-charged v6 in the way I believe... Think it may have a front boot, but I'm guessing it is not roof-sized :?

He wishes :fuelfire: it's a 1.8 yota lump in there. Plenty of room for the fabric roof (just like the Elise has) to fold up and be stowed in the boot or behind the seats.

Is it only a 1.8 ? :?

Even if it is, the roof is a solid metal panel isn't it ?

Edited to say - so it has the normal roof, and a fabric one for travelling ? That's pretty cool, coupe and roadster in one...

Yes it is a 1.8 non supercharged. Yup a normal fabric roof can be fitted for summer use which takes 60 seconds to remove/refit when the fixed hardtop style one is removed. Two use car - great way to sell it to the missus  Spoiler is also removable which changes the look.

Yeah bing there a 1.8 vvti lump producing 189 bhp or 217 bhp per tone a z4m is 231 per tone , but this handles like rails with semi slicks :fuelfire: ehhehehehh :P , tbh this is the reason I went for one get 40 mpg on a run Toyota reliability and bog standard servicing costs, so super cheap to run also rock solid residuals. Porsche was awesome and glad I had it, but my god it was a worry to run.

To be honest your only take the roof off with guarantee sunny day all day, as the roof spent the day on the garage floor , only 5 bolts and 2 mins to take off to be fair. You can easily add to grommets to the existing frame so you can have a fabric roof installed quite cheaply so therefore benefit for a coupe looks but on a super sunny day lose the roof prefect combo! :D I like the spoiler so she will be staying

Got to be honest it's sooooo much fun to drive and am delighted with her, last two nights I have been nipping into the garage just looking at her! ... So who know might keep this longer than 6 months

P.s Stu I have just purchased a new sports exhaust so should be popping and banging and sounding like a brute in the next couple of weeks
