I just read windnwaves first post and it reminded me of me a few times so there have to be more great tales out out there of people going to "buy paint" and coming home wth a Car...(not just a Zed... :D )

Years ago, I went to buy a headlight for a GMC Jimmy and came home with a brand new Ford Bronco (Eddie Bauer Edition)
Last week I went to get tire insurance and ended up with a 2003 Z4 for the Gf (and tire insurance).

not very great stories but the wife was impressed at the time... :?

Plaese add on your tales of shopping gone astray....Mods, if you want this in "Lighter Side" be my guest...

Went to buy curtain poles at B&Q and bought a Ford Puma 1.7 instead
Had tried to buy one at my local dealer, organized to go in at the weekend with my wife for a test drive and car was still sitting at the back of showroom, salesman wanted to talk figures etc before allowing test drive.
I had been in on the Wednesday and told him I would be in on Sunday.
He then asked on Sunday for a £300 non refundable deposit before allowing a drive. I did say to him that I wouldn't pay towards a new pair of shoes bed ore trying them on. :D
I was 21 at the time and he obviously thought I was at it.
We left me in the huff and the missus wanting to buy curtain poles up in Glasgow. I remembered a ford dealer next to the store so went in and they had the exact spec of car so bought it there and then.
Picked it up 3 days later and drivers window switch was faulty.
Drove into my local dealership and parked outside window at original salesman that blanked me :D
I smiled at him on he way into service department
That felt quite good TBH

It was a picture, took me a while to convince her it was not a loan but she forgave me, hence having to sell it with baby on the way.

Purchased my last two cars then told the wife what I did. Was easier that way ~smiles~ Now when I go away I get "Don't you go now and come home with another new car"

Cheers,
