wellcome from spain

hello.
My name is Jose Angel and I am from Spain.
my car is a bmw z4 e85 (red)
I have a problem with the hood hydraulics. They both lose fluid. I have them disassembled but I don't know how they can be opened to change the seals.
Do you know where I can find some information?
thank you

Welcome to the forum.
Are you sure it is the hinges leaking?
More often it is a tiny hole in the lower pipe that sprays oil onto the bottom of the hinge.

hello
With a video I have removed the hood and removed the hydraulics and they both leak.
I think it can't be very difficult to open to change the seal

I have never done it, but I think some of the American members have.

Hi and welcome to the forum Jose.

Good luck solving your roof issues, and feel free to add a photo or two of your car!

Have a look on the left below where you type a post, there is an Add files button. Click on that then choose the file(s).

Jose

DO Not Attempt to take apart the two hinges!!! You may get them apart but, you do not have the tools or correct parts to put them together as a sealed working unite.

The attached business rebuilds all kind of convertible top hydraulic hinges including BMW Z4 (e85). The business is located in the United States, in the State of Washington. It is my understanding that they will do international shipping of repaired/rebuilt hinges.

Here is there website: https://tophydraulics.com/bmw/610-bmw-z4-hinge-pair.html

There fees are a lot less than for a pair of new hinges

Yes it looks great Jose.

Hell Rot is a rare colour for them, in the UK anyway.

hello
Next week we are going to dismantle the hydraulics
I'm going to play it....
I will tell you how we are doing and if we can, how we have achieved it.
good weekend

Good morning
Finally I had the hydraulics fixed here in Spain.
yesterday I assembled them.
I need to try because I have the GM5 control unit changing relays.
thanks for the help
