But that's a 'special' version. I'm sure the last lightweight option, the 987 spyder which didn't even have handles inside is the same.

Lovely stunning car......I'm still not a huge fan of the interior but I'm hoping it will grow on me.......saying that I spied a Targa at SS Classic and head over heels

Good choice. I've heard they have a rather loud exhaust in GTS trim.

Certainly an upgrade from the Z in looks, performance and price :D

Price certainly :( , with regard to powered hoods all but the spyder have powered hoods , its not even an option on a spyder but they are sold anyway

Funnily enough my neighbour wandered over on Sunday and said 'so I have put up with that noise when you go work' (sometimes I leave at 0500) think he was joking , so yes its loud

I've said it here before the E89 is a very dramatic looking car from styling point of view its stunning v sophisticated look , the Boxter is a more aggressive looking car and while the Boxter handles better , may be more reliable etc . I cannot help but think the E89 has timeless good looks and gets more stares ,That said the Cayman though is a different animal completely , I love it .but I love drop heads more .

The cold start on the E89 can cause neighbour issues but it can easily be disabled if you are tuned. Does the GTS have the same loud cold start?

Yes it seems so , it does have a function to make it louder but that wasnt actually turned on at that point and he did say that he could hear my 35is but the porsche seemed louder , he will get used to it :D

He should count his blessings - my neighbours have the pleasure? of my Lotus setting off most mornings. Fortunately they are also keen on cars.

Enjoy the Porsche :)

The E89 can be stunning from certain angles but dare i say ugly from others . :o
I think the current Boxster & Cayman creations are both sublime in looks & the interiors make me seriously consider taking out some finance  .

E89 is stunning from the front at slight angle, and the diagonals, but from the sides and the back it falls very short — actually it can look dated from the side and back especially when viewing from a distance compared to the new boxsters.

Not one "you made a bad choice" comment, I think that says it all. Congrats on the Boxster.

No message Paul, thought you had blanked me!?

Boxster has a powered roof - as soft top its also quicker than the Zed.

It's sharper to drive than the Zed too. Just quite a lot more expensive if you take discounts into account.

Sorry you did'ent get my message Lux can't seem to get my head round how to sent reply anyway my Cayman only has the 20in platinum's
sound pack plus, heated seat's and parking sensor's and of course the pdk which is great so hope you enjoy not cheap but guess you already knew that
Regard's Paul.
ps Just bought a e85 3.0 for my son so will still get a ride in a Z with the roof down sometime's

LOL...click on send reply, type the message and click on submit, easy!

I was worried about the headlights, what are the standard one's like as i forgot to check them out on my demo?

I also went for non heated alcantara rather than heated leather as I think heated seats make you feel like you've pissed yourself!

Have to say I prefer the look of the boxter to the E89, for me i'do rather have a rag top over a hard top.

 Clicked send reply wrote message and clicked submit were did I go wrong done it three time's before.Anyway I think the normal light's are fine as for heated seats matter of choice I like me bum warm in the winter
