Well I'd swap - no question about it...

I've been left this for the weekend while my XF is in for a service.

Will get some photos Saturday, but who wouldn't swap a fire breathing F type S for their beloved Z4?

Even agreed to run Mrs CJ to Tesco shopping - a first :)

It's sort of a taster to taking the Coupe R when I get time...

Wouldn't be tempted by the roadster, but agree that the Coupe R would be nice.

Don't think it will be down to my price range for a while though :headbang:

Their respective values aside, I wouldn't swap - no manual gearbox option.

Looks, sure it's better... but for me the no-manual is a deal breaker.

Not trying to start an auto vs manual vs SMG vs DSG debates... but for me, I like a manual.

Nice courtesy car though, as has been said!

I am just disgusted that your love for Mrs CJ is that shallow

Even though I would prefer the V8 Coupe and a different colour I still think its a great courtesy car especially when I have only ever had 320d`s when my bmw`s have been in for a service...I need to go for a Jag in the future...only another 40 years to go until I am old enough for one though...when I am 80!

You've been lucky then, as I started getting 320d's and it's been downhill ever since - the even gave me a Mini once and it was the wirst plastic I'd seen in a car since I had a Daewoo Matiz.

Very little shopping got done - just a bit of wine and good food for diner.

Gearbox is pretty cool with manual shift and sport options. Playing with the gears when the exhaust is open just causes it to howl, pop and bang - very addictive.

Colour combo is really rather good in the flesh.

I wont complain to much then! had two 320d Coupes both with less than 500 miles on them and had a nearly new 320d saloon as well recently...I asked for a M6 but another customer was already using it!! :D

I did get given a Mini cooper d back in 2009 and I thought the 320d`s engine was harsh and noisy but it wasn't a patch on the mini`s...I think its the closest I have got to driving a tractor in terms of noise!!

It is a beautiful looking car, when I was considering my Porsche option I briefly thought about it - but the reviews were so poor that I just could not do it.

100% agree re manual option, also that red roof looks shocking in that colour combo.

Nice to see the two vehicles side by side - as for me I prefer the looks of the ultimate driving machine. The Jaguar looks a bit too camp for me.

As I said in a thread last week!

I had a V6S for 24 hours. For me the only thing it had over my 35i was the noise. Jag have faffed with the ZF 8 speed to much, just highlights how good the DCT really is. Plus boot really is pitiful.

Definitely not worth the extra 30k once specced to the same level. If I really wanted mine to sound like (even better than actually) an V6 F-type, I would just pop up to AAS and get them to fit a titanium system for 1.8k.
