Well, I never.

Going through my car's paperwork today I noticed the logbook states the power output at 135kw which translates to 181bhp-meaning my zed is a 20i & not the runt of the litter 18i version.
Further checking revealed the advert for the car clearly describing it as an 18i
Think I'd be seriously miffed the other way round, but this is ok :P

You didn't find a couple of cylinders while rummaging through your paperwork did you Rob? :poke:

Surprised you've never done a bmw vin decode on it Rob

This is what it says on there too. Indeed a 20i

That's where it gets confusing because all the 2litre turbo cars are 2.0.
They then have a further designation if 18i, 20i or 28i. I just thought the vin decider was calling it a 2litre!

I looked hard but couldn't find any, as long as I've got a pot to piss in I'm happy though :poke:

Yeah the type bit says 20i though

If you find a 18i and put in the decoder, the type bit says 18i :)

So the moral of the story is take the badges off your car and pass it off as a better model when you sell it to a dealer, they don't have a clue. :)

Yep, my car had model designation delete & it fooled the dealer
I feel like I've got a better value car now, dead happy

When you insured it did you say 18i?

Good news either way!

I put the reg in the search engine & it gave me the model, because of the weird way the 2.0 turbo cars are named its confusing to say the least :?
