Well I bought it....

As some of you will have seen on the sales forum I have bought status's (Paul's), E86 sport. It's Phoenix yellow (one of 17 apparently), with the two tone interior. Originally thought that the interior would be a bit much, but it is definitely a lot more subtle in the flesh and it's a nice place to be. This is my 2nd weekend car so may not have gone for this colour. Really shows the lines of the car well. Apart from one tiny dent the car is immaculate.
Had a great 150 miles drive home getting used to the car. Silky smooth engine, nice and responsive pickup and love the sound of the engine. Nice direct smooth steering. It gets a little light 'at speed', but still smooth and planted. Is this a characteristic of the car? It's on pretty new eagle F1's.
May get some new alloys soon.
This is a knowledgeable forum and has helped me with research and buying the car. Looking forward to being an owner and driving the car and pestering
I'm in North Staffordshire / Staffordshire moorlands and know that there seems to be a few e86 owner's and forum members locally so could be a localish meet with Summer around the corner..... apparently!

Welcome to Coupe ownership.

I've not noticed the steering getting "light" at speed on either of mine - you could always use the Sport button though, that should firm it up a bit.

The engine is great though - it just makes you want to keep your foot planted! :)

I really like the colour combination too. Your car looks great - enjoy. :driving:

Thanks everyone.
Will probably be asking plenty of queries on the car as I go.
Always surprises me how much people know about the Z4's and there quirks / problems on this forum. I suppose that's what its all about.

Hi & Welcome

I do like the phoenix yellow, there is an E85 just down from me in that, and I must say I do like it :D

Nice to see a bit of colour.

Definitely - that's why 2nd time around I got Montego Blue! But also why I got a bit twitchy about the Hellrot Coupe in Scotland (and this one)!

It's the one thing I miss about my E46 325ti Sport that I sold a couple of months ago - it was Imola Red! Replacement E91 325i is sparkling graphite ( :headbang: ) but it does have lemon leather trim!

Thanks everyone...
Can anyone local ish (r4row, tyreman, anyone else), recommend any independent specialists for servicing / general work? Staffordshire / South Cheshire?
