well another one might be going......

Warrantywise the covername is "total" no exclusions at all (apart from clutch, brakepads etc) if you go to the warrantywisesite and tick everything that's the policy. Not to be confused with the low end stuff a car dealer might supply.

Why not go for the BMW fully comp no excess option for alot less cash?

Previous owner had it in place. I did research it and it is a pretty good warranty basically the same level of cover as the bmw one.

Well, my Z4MR is going up for sale next week whilst I can make over £4000 on what I paid for it last year. Not many cars have "appreciated" in value over the past 30 years. I may very well kick myself in 5 years time when the rarity pushes prices through the roof. However, having been made redundant last week at 53, I doubt I will ever work again (but can't/won't claim a penny from the taxpayer!).

Let's see what happens with prices for low mileage examples. I'd like to keep mine but £405 Road Tax is the killer on a limited budget.

TBH honest...I think you're all kidding yourself with prices.
No car in the real world makes £4k+ profit in a year, certainly not a bimmer. All that's is going to happen is the market will be saturated with people trying to sell 2006 Z4M's for £25k. When I was looking 5 months ago I struggled to find any....ones that were for sale and snapped up around £21k-£23k. Now looking at PH there's about 12 for sale with most having this inflated price.

It's like the situation with the Euro being strong against the £.
Many buyers from Germany and France were flooding the UK market looking for Lotus Elise's and Exige's. UK buyers thought they would catch on and added a couple of K to their asking price hoping for a European buyer.

Hell, If I'm proved wrong then superb. I'm not looking to sell, it's a great car but maybe it will mean I'll be able to sell 2 years from now for what I paid....

Well before this thread veers totally off topic I'll put it up and see what happens. I dont need to sell it so I'm not going to be giving it away. Even if I did give it away it still wont owe me anything.

I've sold enough cars over last few years to know how to price them and knowing the hassle I had finding a z4m with a proper service history/not needing an imminent service/tyres/brakes. If I have mine up for 22 with all the right bits on and proper history if someone wants to go pay 20 for one that needs a grand spending on it and has no warranty/CSL's thats their choice. There arent many cars to choose from. There are only 7 on PH actually and I bet a quick few phone calls would rule half of them out if anyone looking for a simple turn-key/no hassle purchase. Those of us that were lucky to pick them up in the winter last year will have no issues with an increase in value of 3-4k.

Worst case scenario Whats the real premium I'm askign a grand? A car's worth whatever people will pay for it. A year or so back I sold one of my VX220's for top trade money but it was mint and there were 3 or 4 serious buyers willing to pay a premium for a car they knew was right.

The firming in values is right accross the market. I keep my eye on a few different types of car and its all relative. Similar percentage increases have happened with most cars. The Euro buyer phenomenon was I think more specific to track cars than road cars.

british summer is here, ok is raining too but its warm as hell so i think the roadsters will make a bit of money, i sure i could sell mine and at worst break even, but id never even consider it as its the only fun i have these days.

with the new z4 not really sporty the last generation seem to be sort after, and if im honest the M coupe with csl's is a truely stunning car, well worth low twenty k's for a good example.

Nice 56 plate interlagos MC at my dealer today, no nav or csls, not sure of mileage but was up for 26,995, which seems a lot.

yep.. i like it !

just spoke to the salesman about a new zed, who said if he could have any car, he'd still choose a Z4MC but can't afford it.. but was tempted by this one..

Have a look at this thread on pistonheads

getting a little heated with some fairly 'interesting' opinions on Z4 M values (page 2)!

Trouble with PH is that there is always someone willing to spoil sensible discussion for everyone else

And that guy causing all the trouble has had about 10 names on PH, and keeps getting banned - although he also has a habit of getting his posts removed.

One minute he'll say it's a wonderful car and he's getting 35mpg out of it, and anyone who can't is a boy racer. Then he'll go on to say he can't stand BMWs and can't wait to get rid, then he'll say he's a car dealer who doesn't understand block exemption, etc...

BTW, he's also a member on here :headbang:

That will be me you are referring to Fat Man. :poke: Personal abuse, as you have just directed at me, is totally out of order. However, I have no doubt whatsoever that the moderators on this forum will allow you to stay but ban me. That's the nature of the peculiar Pistonheads forums. If you are well known you stay. If you are new, & don't agree with the majority you get banned immediately. C'est la vie.
