Hi guys/girls
When you lock/unlock car with fob what are your lights supposed to do?
When I open the car the internal lights come on only, no headlight or indicators flash.
When I close the car front,side and rear indicators flash once. Is this standard?

Sounds about right but you can program different actions. I have an intravee fitted and also use Carly or the BMW software and so on mine I have beeps on locking and unlocking and the fog lamps and centre brake light come on for a short time when locking.

Please could you advise how it is possible to change these settings. I am new to Z4 ownership and am still searching for a spare manual. Thanks!

My interior lights come on when unlocking and nothing at all happens when I lock the car, keep meaning to get this coded.

The lights and many other options are programmable but you need software to do so, you can get it done at BMW, via an indy garage with the software or some of the guys on the forum can do this sort of thing. In fact Mike (Ducklakeview) was only earlier mentioning a package he was doing where he could do any coding, move the roof motor and do the exhaust mod all for a set price.
If you have an E85 then the roof motor mod is a great thing to have done.

On locking and unlocking my lights are programmed via an Intravee which is an Ipod interface for BMWs. Really only useful if you have a OEM Sat nav display. Carly is Android and IOS software which with an adapter you can read error codes etc and code some settings.
