Weird power loss when turning left. TC problem?

In normal mode, no warning lights set, the traction control light comes on. The engine loses power. I think the brakes are being applied too.

This is in pretty much any left hand bend. At any speed over twenty. But not every time. One bend in four. It's not very nice. And the car stutters sometimes when accelerating.

A brief test with traction control off (triangle lit) was performed. The problem disappeared.

With DTC (lit) there also seems to be the same hesitancy and odd lighting of the triangle for little reason.

My suspicion is faulty traction control. Sensor? Control unit? Dunno.

Does anyone else have any experience of a similar problem and how was it resolved.

So its defiantly not the TC doing what it should? Ie you not loosing traction when it dose this??

As suggested wheel speed/abs sensor could be at fault. Have you had any weird tyre pressure warnings? I think you will need to get it plugged in and any fault codes read.

Steady driving, kind of.

I just needed reminding that I have a reader.

I will be back.

& I will look at the sensors

Tyre pressures are 34 all round.

Continued...

No unusual warning codes found (D9000)

Testing on DTC (DTC lit) uphill LH bend---
- traction light blinks, yellow
- tyre pressure warning lit, yellow
- handbrake/brake system ((!)) red light.

Which sums up as DTC failure.
But as the car works fine with traction control off I suspect a sensor

Thoughts?
Do I need to buy an INPA reader?

must be a sensor.
Must be.
The tyre pressure light wouldn't come on if it was the stability control box. would it?

Do I buy a new sensor and swap it into each position until it the problem goes away.

Errrrrr

Most likely it will be a steering angle sensor out of alignment - mine recently did it. Does the car track straight? Have you recently had new tyres?

You can reset the angle sensor using BMW Scanner. The angle sensor is detecting a skid when there isnt one, which is why the ABS is kicking on. Turning on the DTC on wont help unfortunately, but fully disabling it should for now (just driver a bit more carefully!).

Oh goody. It has now behaved weirdly with the traction control set to off.

I am going to have to go out there and poke it in a halfhearted manner, I guess.
