Weird loss of power

Often when I go over a speedbump, I seem to lose power, it's as if I've taken my foot off the accelerator. It is only a tiny hesitation, but it's still there.
The only explanation I have been able to come up with is that the stability control is cutting back the throttle as one of the wheels is slipping, but surely that wouldn't happen going over speed bumps ?
I am not worried just curious. Any answers ?

Depends how fast you are going i guess, and how much accel pedal you are giving it!

if the wheel is in the air slightly after passing the speed bump then the torque will make it spin faster, and the traction control will try to slow it down.

Can't say i noticed it but i tend to crawl over speedbumps :D

Erm........ mebbe it is time to slow down a little bit. The above explanation makes sense. Trouble is that you can more or less drive the Pug at just about anything and it will take it in its stride ( probably down to French roads it has to cope with ), and the MR2 had no traction control so I never noticed. :driving: *speed demon hangs head in shame*

That was my thought too. Easiest way to tell I guess is watch the dash and see if the DSC light flickers up.

Just thinking, it happens most often on steep(ish) hill into village, speed bump is at the bottom of that. Means it is even more likely that at some point one or more wheels are in the air.
