Not sure what's happening here.
When I bought my low mileage 2 owner Zed last year, the seller (nice lad bit of an enthusiast) said he had taken the extended warranty out on the car when he bought it and that it expired the week I bought it from him. The previous owner was a lady doctor who had hardly used the car and to his knowledge there had been no warranty claims on the car.
First thing I did was to contact BMW Insured warranty to continue the cover, agreed to pay them £40.00 a month direct debit on a monthly renewable contract £100.00 excess. Happy Days.
Paid the premium every month, had a couple of things done but was never asked to pay the excess. Kept quiet about it.
Took it in a few weeks ago to do the seatbelt warning light which they did and didnt ask for the excess. The service fella casually mentioned that thier records had my car listed as a 3.0l but that he had amended the records to show the proper engine size.
Saturday, got a letter from BMW insured warranty to say the extended warranty expires this month, do I want to pay to extend it further? I contacted them to say I already pay them by direct debit on a monthly renewable arrangement so how could it be expiring. Lots of frantic keyboard tapping at the other end then they said they would get back to me.
Got an official BMW letter today asking me to cofirm my chasis number. Seems they have me covered twice for the same car but with two chasis numbers, one of which is a 3.0l.
So, dont know if I have been already covered on a warranty when they let me pay for another one every month. Seems when they didnt ask for the excess they were claiming on the first warranty/chasis number.
I have confirmed my chasis number with them so I suppose its a case of wait and see.
Any thoughts?
