Weight loss tips?

ive been training for 10 years now so weight loss and losing weight fast/putting weight on is my forte, how much weight loss are you thinking??? without reading the whole thread, consider doing light weight workout to tone the body? but imo these fad diets are unhealthy...

lots of sleep, good quality work outs, maybe even take up boxercise?? boxing is an amazing workout... 10 years of doing it has left me with a body with literally no fat, just lean muscle.

if you goals are pure weight loss then i guess dieting will help but it will be a slow course. BTW my BMI firmly put me firmly in the over weight category, yet im the complete opposite of the scale.

Hi Beedub,

I'd ideally like to lose three stone.... I'd like to start doing something now, but at the same time feel it's a bit risky to take away one of my de-stressors - comfort food! I'm struggling with overwhelming self-doubt about finishing this PhD (only person in my family to go to uni, much less graduate school!). It will all be over by October and I'll have the head space to focus on me again.

Glad that people have found this topic so engaging!

Cut out Carbs. I'm 26 male, wouldn't say I was fat at all, but don't see the point in eating them generally unless you do alot of exercise, which I generally don't.

I run say 3 times a week and maybe a bike ride or something and don't feel I need carbs for energy. I also noticed that once I stopped eating them, my apitite got smaller. I lost some weight just from this and generally felt better.

I now eat a low car diet. If I particularly want something, I will eat it but generally don't eat them at night.

A general day:

Breakfast: Yogurt and Fruit, maybe some honey.
Mid Morning Snack: Bananna
Lunch: Maybe Soup or similar (Not Sandwiches)
Dinner: Normal food, meat, fish salad etc but not potatoes, bread, rice pasta etc!

I don't get that bloated feeling either.

when they are this old it does make me wonder how on earth they are found again. :?

Slimming world and cycling did it for me, healthy eating and exercise, but with a structure to it !

+1 for cycling.
30-40km/day during the week (only takes 1-1.5 hrs) and 70-100km on the weekend and I was down to my target weight of 80kg from 100kg after only 9 months.
Concept ii model D rowing machine (on slides so i can watch telly/film) for sh!tty weather days.
